Most exciting sports market in America (1 Viewer)

St. Louis' problem is twofold...

  1. It is a dying city.  The town has emptied to the suburbs and that is stretching a long way to the West.
  2. Baseball is king.  When an NFL team has to fight baseball for coverage, merchandising and ticket sales, they get mad, take their ball and leave.  Basketball would face a similar fate.  Soccer is the best bet for another "major" sports team.

I would think New York, Boston and Chicago are at the top.  They have the more professional teams and very loyal fan bases.  Houston could make a case for being in the top.

I will speak up for my hometown. We've had Super Bowls, CFB championships, final fours, I've gotten to see them all. I think we're the best town for championships in the US.
I did enjoy a couple of Sugar Bowls there, including a de facto National Championship game.
