most overused word in football today (1 Viewer)

Mimicking 7th graders...everything that I thought was cool when I was growing up, kids now call "beast". Example:

That sack was "beast". It loses a bit if you aren't 12 years old, but I hear it every day.

MAybe not overused, but i hate "eyeball test". He passes the eyeball test? How about he looks good, or he looks like a beast?

I've grown tired of the word "sick".

That was a sick catch.

ADP is so sick.

I know you don't hear it much on broadcasts, but people I know have worn it out.

Is "beast" an east coast thing? I see it on message boards, but I never hear anyone say it in real life.

'beast" always pisses me off. its not only used in football either

I'M A BEAST. YOU'RE A BEAST. SHE'S A BEAST. CAUSE WE'RE ALL BEASTS! HEY!

Thats a good question, I thought its was more of a West Coast slang word. I guess I was wrong. I hear it a lot where I live (FL), but we are in football country hear. We constantly see high ranking high school players referred to as beasts, along with college players (I heard, "Tebow is a beast" at least a million times).

Appropos of what Hester just pulled off tonight, here is a group of words I am tired of hearing:

"I don't know why they kick the ball to this guy."

Maybe because he's the only guy back there to return the punt?

I don't know if I envy you, or pity you.

It would be nice not having anything else to annoy me. Then again, if a simple word pissed me off, I am sure a lot more would too.

Don't take it out on your dog.

National Football League. This is one of the premier defenses in the National Football League. His quickness makes him one of the best safeties in the National Football League. The National Football League has many fine football players who have always dreamed of playing football in the National Football League.

I over use "giant" and I'm tired of Tirico saying, right before Gould shanks one, "one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history."

Apparently he's not superstitious.

No way man, beast is right where it should be in terms of usage.

I like to change it up:

He's beastin it up!

He's beastin off all over the defenses face!

He's a beastie!

He should be called Jahvid Beast!

What you gonna do when BEAST-A-MANIA runs wild on you, brother?!?!?

Dude! Beast?

Actually a lot of these guys are pretty well described by the term. And it rolls off the tongue better than "Physically imposing".

National Football League is definitely getting to me. Just say NFL broadcasters. Do it for the children.
