All I see is a lot of laughing and a lot of Packer hate, and very little analysis.GB is likely to split with CHI and mow down both MIN/DET. Of course, we should expect CHI to do that as well.I'm not saying this team is going to the playoffs or winning the division without a doubt, but to write them off so foolishly is just not looking at the situation properly.
You're out of your gourd. I can't see the Pack doing better than splitting any of their games with a given divisional opponent, and I personally expect them to be swept by Chicago and Minnesota. An insanely successful season for them would be 7 wins, but 5 is probably more realistic. You're talking this way because Favre returned, but he can't do it on his own as he demonstrated last year.

The problems with the Packers as I saw them:1) The O-line is terrible. This is to be expected. Two starters are basically rookies. It takes time for an O-line to gel.2) The defense has talent, but apparently they need a remedial course in tackling. How many times did they put their hands on a Bengal only to let them slip away? This is more likely due to discipline, or lack thereof. Something that Jim Bates instilled in these guys. Why didn't the Packers hire this guy as the head coach?3) Receivers definitely dropped and/or bounced some catchable passes.4) Favre is looking a smidgen more patient in the pocket but in the end instinct will take over and he'll throw that one killer pass that he's not supposed to.NFC North is up for grabs (I don't see Chicago being all that great this season) but I don't think the packers will finish better than the basement. If they get 6-7 wins this year it'll be a tremendous achievement.

Thought I heard last night from one of the "Three Monkeys" (you know - see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil) on ESPN that Favre back-tracked on that "most talented team ever..." to say that it is unexperienced - nothing new there, but he went on to say that he (being Favre) wasn't sure if GB would even win a game this year....

Almost choked on my liquid intake when I heard that... :bag:

Did anyone else hear that comment?
 Wife( She is a Packer fan  ) looked at me and said:

:lmao:

Listening to Sirius today and the Favre lovers were up in arms bc believe it or not Adam Cheyn and Solomon Wilcots had the NERVE to say Favre MIGHT be washed up.

I thought he looked great last night.

I hope he plays five more years

(Bears fan)

BTW - Joe Theismann knows that Brett will do great things this year, so wherever you folks are getting your information, please, listen to Joe.

I really don't understand why Packers fans/Favre lovers can't admit that he needs to go. He's hurting your entire franchise by staying, and it's obvious to everybody else. I know that some of you have spurned your wife in bed many a night because you just let one off to Brett's Sunday afternoon performance, but c'mon.

Every year he stays is one more year that Rodgers sits the pine. That's one more year than they'll be a good team.

How many people are going to eat crow when the Packers take the division with their cookie-dough schedule?

At worst, this is a 9 win team, and they'll make damn sure to win the opener, so you're looking at probably 10 for the Pack.

Don't be so quick to write off the Pack. Sure, it's tempting to make fun of an unproven coach and an aging veteran, but he's still Brett Favre, and he's actually got something resembling a defense this year.

This team probably is looking at a quick start and a hard run after the bye week as well as a good stretch run into the division-deciding game in Chicago.

Favre has led eight top-5 offenses and only two below top-15, his first season in GB and last season.

Favre is 140-84 for the Pack and 136-72 discounting last year.

You can't ignore numbers like that.

Laugh all you like now, but don't write off the Pack in Training Camp. Favre isn't Denny Green. If he says it's the best talent he's played with, I'd give him at least some merit.

This is a team that will surprise a lot of people this year, even though it shouldn't surprise anyone that a team with 11 of the past 13 seasons above .500, including an 8-8 transition year and last season's injury bug.

How soon we all forget....

FYI this article is from 2006. The Pack went 8-8 that year.
Uh, yeah? So, talent just suddenly appeared in 2007? Or, was the talent there in 2006 developing?
If you consider Ryan Grant and James Jones talented then yes. I agree somewhat with what you are saying, but the sentiment of this article and the posts deal with the 2006 season. I'm sure there are plenty of Packers bashing posts for the 2007 pre season in the archives.
