Doesn't matter. The better team won on Sunday. If the Patriots didn't like the Jets celebrating, then the Patriots should have won the game. And let's not pretend that the Patriots haven't done the same thing (to both the Jets and other teams). Yeah, the Jets are a bunch of arrogant tools, but when you win the game, it's sour grapes for the other team to complain about this sort of thing. Deion Branch's complaining was embarrassing and disappointing to me as a Patriots fan.

Whats less classy, trash talking or cheating? Im a Bills fan, so i dont like either team, but in my book, trash talking and excessive celebration doesnt touch cheating.
 Jets are far classier than the Patriots. BB exudes class with his post-game hand-shake disses and his "misremembering" The Jets aren't the poster children for class in the NFL but they're a breath of fresh air compared to New England.

Are the Jets classless, no but they certainly are not refined. Belicheat videotaping other teams practices is classless. It is interesting to note that they haven't won a Superbowl since that particular style of coaching has been exposed. BB fooling around with, and buying stuff for, a married woman, is pretty classy stuff too. I loved hearing the Pats, and their media contingent, keep referencing the NY Yankees, as a way they try to carry themselves; please, they couldn't carry the Yanks laundry.
Football talk again I love it, fair assessment, however Bill personal affairs have noting to do with coaching, I wish people could let go of getting personal cuz that is a sure way to disaster. Unrefined is a good word for the Jets, but to the degree of tripping, and unwarrented smack talk is unclassy in every sense. I like the reference to not winning a title since spygate, maybe that was the reason, maybe not. but I still have not seen any rings on the Jets fingers lately.
You reference his coaching ability and winning ways as if it has to do with class. I think that you would agree that being classy and winning do not necessarily go hand in hand. The Jets asking Dennis Byrd to come and speak to the team, after he said he wanted to send his jersey to Rex Ryan, is a classy move; the players carrying it out for the coin toss, was too. BB personal relationships and how he treats other people is what would make him classy to me, not if he used the proper fork for the salad course. I don't think I would like Bill Belichick, the person, but I might like to play football for him.

Not just the team, the entire Patriot organization starting at the top is classless as they come. Coach gets caught cheating but he remains on the payroll. Any honorable organization would have immediately removed such a person from employment immediately. In love with their 3 ill-gotten super bowls with the * * * on them. Scum.

As far as trash talk, that's just boys being boys and it ain't gonna change.

I am not a fan of government intrusion into sports, though I can appreciate the angle being used by thosewho would seek to insert its involvement. Anyway, here is an update on one of the biggest crusaders of

the "Bring Justice to the Patriots" mindset.

http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/20...f_arlen_specter

New England Patriots escape the watchful eye of Arlen Specter

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter has served his last day in Congress, and the end of his long legislative career also marks the end of his promise to investigate the 2007 National Football League (NFL) cheating scandal involving The New England Patriots' coach Bill Belichick, known as "Spygate."

Belichick was disciplined by the NFL in September 2007 for his role in the videotaping of defensive signals during a game and practice against the New York Jets, which was determined to be in violation of NFL rules. He was personally fined $500,000, the team was fined $250,000, and the Patriots lost their first round pick in the 2008 NFL draft.

In 2008, Specter, then the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, interjected himself into the Spygate controversy in a major way. After all, Belichick's spying had allegedly gone back years and could have impacted games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles, whom the Patriots narrowly defeated in 2005's Superbowl XXXIX.

(Full disclosure: Your humble Cable guy has been a Philadelphia Eagles fan since 1978.)

Specter wrote twice to NFL Commissioner Robert Goodell to demand to know why the NFL had destroyed the tapes that were evidence of Belichick's cheating. He promised to hold a hearing and call Goodall before the committee. He even threatened to examine anti-trust issues surrounding the NFL's lucrative television contracts.

"The N.F.L. has a very preferred status in our country with their antitrust exemption," Specter told the New York Times. "The American people are entitled to be sure about the integrity of the game. It's analogous to the C.I.A. destruction of tapes. Or any time you have records destroyed."

Goodell wrote to Specter, claiming that there was no evidence that cheating had affected the Patriots-Eagles Superbowl. Unsatisfied, that May, Specter met for 3 hours in his office with Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh. After the meeting, he called for an independent investigation into the matter.

That investigation and the congressional hearings Specter threatened never came to be. Nevertheless, throughout 2008 and most of 2009, your humble Cable guy would periodically check in with Specter about the progress of the Spygate investigation.

As a defense reporter for Congressional Quarterly at the time, I stood day in and day out in the hallway adjacent to the Senate chamber, chasing senators for quotes and comments.

"Senator Specter, what's going on with the Spygate investigation?" I would often ask, having no actual defense-related question to pose as he crossed my path.

"It's moving fast, watch the floor later today," Specter would often reply with a wink, clearly being sarcastic but playing along nonetheless.

"Here's a quarter, go buy the newspaper," he once said, joking as if there had been some major development on Spygate that day I had missed.

In April 2009, Specter announced he would switch from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party because he no longer felt he could compete in a Pennsylvania Republican primary fight. The day of his announcement, Specter was skillfully avoiding the throngs of reporters scouring the Capitol building to demand a quote on the matter.

By pure happenstance, your humble Cable guy crossed paths with Specter as he headed into a meeting room on the first floor. "Senator Specter! One question please!" I shouted at him. He paused, turned around, and with a marked reluctance said, "Ok, what is it?"

"What does your party switch mean for the Spygate investigation?" I asked.

A smirk crossed his face as he replied, "The Spygate investigation is on hold."

Once more, after he lost his primary battle to Rep. Joe Sestak, who later lost his general election fight to Senator-elect Pat Toomey, I asked Specter what his latest setback would mean for the Spygate saga.

"The investigation has been officially closed," he said with a sigh.

And so ends the congressional interest in Spygate, along with the career of Pennsylvania's longest-serving lawmaker. Never without a sense of humor and never shy to ruffle a few feathers, Specter used his final words on the Senate floor to lambast the current state of the world's greatest deliberative body.

"The days of lively debate with many Members on the floor are long gone. Abuse of the Senate rules has pretty much stripped Senators of the right to offer amendments. The modern filibuster requires only a threat and no talking. So the Senate's activity for more than a decade has been the virtual continuous drone of a quorum call," Specter said.

"Civility is more than good manners.... Civility is a state of mind. It reflects respect for your opponents and for the institutions you serve together.... This polarization will make civility in the next Congress more difficult -- and more necessary -- than ever."

Right. The Krafts, who just donated $20 million to establish a health center for the poor, are as classless as they come because they didn't fire their head football coach. :goodposting: Get real. Maybe you should put a little bit of thought into your posts before you tear people down.If Belichick had been fired, probably more than half the teams in the league would have been waiting for him in the parking lot at Gillette Stadium, ready to write him a blank check to run their organization. Don't be so naive to think otherwise.

It is in the pudding, Bill benches Welker for not even directly trash talkin, and Rex runs down the sideline to rub it in after his player celbrates to get a penalty. People say New England is cocky. I beg to differ as I have never seen a team who has won nothing talk so much trash. At least if the Pats seem cocky, they have 3 reasons why. ...and no I am not a Pats fan, just a fan of Classy NFL teams....and I am sure Jets fans will come in here looking to attack...Fans are sometimes like the team.

This is a thread to discuss how unclassy teams can be...especially the Not Yets.
Pats are less classy than the Jets, remember Spygate?how are the Jets not a classy organization?? why, because they won an emotional game against a bitter rival after being thumped 45-3, so they talk and back it up and you suddenly hate them? Brady celebrates every TD by pointing at the opposition and talking trash..

Ravens talk more trash than anyone, doesn't mean they're classless...

Niners CHEATED in the 80's early 90's with all of their salary cap sideskirting..they definitely twisted the numbers..they also used the cut block something that worked within that gray area...

..where were you with the D. Jackson TD celebration(s) from 10 yards out showing up the other team? hey I get it - stop him and he won't do that - but it's classless nonetheless..the Eagles fans and players are classless...Runyan was the cheapest o-lineman in the past 20 years..

Titans seem to play dirty football..

Raiders did so in the 70's.

Rams celebrated on the field after beating the Giants in the playoffs years ago...I was at the game, and all I remember seeing and hearing was Kevin Greene shouting at the top of his lungs, while running out from the sideline.. and the Rams celebrating on the field..they weren't classless for doing so, they were emotional, like the Jets were..big difference between emotional and classless..

Giants danced at the 50 yard line, after beating the Bills..that's not classless either..

Can't be the Jets. I vote the team where one of the coaches intentionally trips a player on the field...what team was that again?
Exactly, karma is a B!...and as I said in another thread, you cant escape that. The Jets karma is coming.
The Karma where they've made the AFC Champ game in back to back years for the first time in their history? :goodposting: I think they'll take that Karma.

Haven't posted in a long time here in the Shark Pool though I've been lurking around these parts seeing its one of the best sites on the net to read about football whether it fantasy or otherwise. This thread though compelled me to comment as it just might be the most asinine post I've seen here in the 7-8 years since I came on board and signed up. For those who don't know me, I've been a longtime Jet fan since the year AFTER Jets won their only SB and so I've suffered more than most Jet fans around these parts.

The OP is obviously trying to burst us Jet fans balloons with this thread and it looks like many of y'all have fell for it. Let it go. No one cares who's classy or who's not in football neither does the OP in his obvious attempt to incite Jet fans to get emotions raised. He's obviously embarrased at his Saints pathetic playoff performance this year and is jealous of all the attention Jet Nation is getting once again. No one cares which team trash talks or who doesn't either. If the Jets somehow can win another two games, I'll gladly accept the title of most unclassy, crass and hated Super Bowl CHAMPION ever!. So let the OP wallow in his misery and keep thinking how in the world did we lose to the 7-9 Seattle effin Seahawks.......LOL

 ENJOY IT MAX!!!!!

Question: Where might a team fall on the unclassiest list if their game plan includes taking numerous illegal and intentionally late hits on a 40 year old quarterback in a championship game?

and :hot: at Ryan chest bumping a guy who put his team up 14 with 2 to go being classless. It's called emotion. all around weak effort here... :fail:

Yeah the Eagles know about going to the conference championship games. After that not so much. Sorry could not resist. Jets for your sake I hope you do not become the Eagles of the AFC. I will take a Super Bowl win over 10 losses in the championship game. I am rooting for the Jets at this point. GO J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. Again sorry but it is just a divisional thing Eagles fan not personal.

:goodposting: Would of liked to see the referees do their job a little more in that game.

I just assumed the OP was a satire ofjets fans when the pats were winning and the jets were losers.

I believe the moment of the lowest class behaviour I've ever seen was the way Belichick treated Mangini after Jets-Pats games. Trash talking, all that stuff is one thing, but when the game is over, what Belichick did was about as low class as anything I can ever remember. What makes it even worse was that these two were close friends. Worst display of unsportmanlike conduct I ever saw in the coaching ranks of the NFL.

and if Belichick signed with the Jets and won playoff games for you you'd be licking his toes.

He did sign with the Jets. He resigned his first day on the job. Another classy move. Winning forgives almost everything for fans, and I don't claim to be above that, especially after 41 years without a SB appearance. However, I am not a toe licker. In fact, I have never licked a toe in my entire life. Must have been a Buddhist in a previous life. I think Belichick is pretty low class. He just hides it pretty well...sometimes, and people like you buy in.

Yeah, right --- when he's on the team that takes your division every year he's low class, but you've got a poster of Rex Ryan over your bed --- and I'm the one buying in. :blackdot:

Like I said, if Belichick was winning the division every year with the Jets you'd be building him a shrine by the tv.

Don't get all bitter 'cuz he dumped you guys after the first date.

Did I say Ryan was classy? And thanks for the chuckle... I'm bitter? The Jets just kicked the classless Pats right out of the playoffs on their own field. Branch who was trash talking at the Jets sideline the whole game is the one to call out the Jets? Are you his twin brother? :lmao:

I think the Bengals have to be in consideration for least classy team. They don't seem to have any morals clauses in their contracts and they show no regard for their players or fans. I've never heard any player leave Cincinnati and say they were treated to first-rate amenities.

The Bengals are the Motel 6 of the NFL. It has nothing to do with their fans. The team shows little class in the way they conduct their business with fans or employees.

Edit: I apologize because my post had nothing to do with the Jets.

:lmao: Too bad his name wasn't Football Historian.
Is filming a practice really cheating, or a slicker move in coaching? Keep drinking the media koolaid, coaches were upset they didnt think of it first, but hey call it cheating....LIKE TRIPPING PLAYERS ON THE SIDELINE!
Like the Pats do?????

Great stuff Critic, I'll tell ya where you miss the boat though....

WE ARE ALL FOOTBALL FANS HERE!!!!!

For the most part we BLEED the color of our team... We don't look at each regime and team and choose our team for the season based on Class or anything else.... That's why Bellichik can steal a guys wife, Tape practices, Have players on HGH, Form Sideline walls and mumble nonesense and Pats fans would never flinch.

So, yeah, it just so happens that the current Jets regime says SCREW YOU to Class and doesn't care....

So, what's the debate here??? You're here to tell jets fans What???? That we should change teams? That maybe I shouldn't have enjoyed last night as much as I did.. Maybe I should have mumbled about Class all night and drank a lot less?????? or more??????

Really not sure what you're getting at here that EVERYONE here doesn't already grasp....

The point is.... As FOOTBALL FANS... Every single one of us would take the WINS over not having the classiest team in the league....

Again, 2 years, I'm going on SIX PLAYOFF PARTIES AT MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWO Championship games....Aside from the Pats, Colts, Saints, Steelers and a few other groups of fans, I know most of the rest of the NFL fans would sign up for that in a heartbeat.

That just might match the Playoff parties I've had all my life as a fan....

So. You're not telling Jets fans anything new and you're not convincing me that any other SPORTS FAN would choose Class over Wins.....

I think you're just being a little silly. But, if you find enjoyment out of this, more power to ya. :)
Me thinks you drink too much ;)

DAMN YOU NEIL FOR RUINING A PERFECTLY GOOD WASTE OF INTERNET INK WITH YOUR NONSENSE.Awesome :bag: BTW. They're jumping in for days.JETS ROOOL EVERYONE ELSE DROOL(S)

This is a class discussion of the NY Jets, but continue to believe otherwise. As a football fan i am allowed to dislike teams, and point out why, in response people should say why they are not a classless team, but instead we get off track with personal attacks.Ironic in a class thread. The fact that someone can defend the Jets as not being the most unclassy team is beyond me, your not being impartial.Look at postgame press conferences and pregame smack talk, your either blind, or just want to attack a thread cuz its fun. Bart Scotts post game interview vs. a Brady interview? c'mon man, seriously. ...but continue to say I am embarrassing myself.38 posts, I am still waiting for someone to tell me why I should not believe the Jets to be unclassy!
What are you upset at? The Jets are not a classy team, does that make you feel better? They don't care, you're wasting your time because they do not care. Rex Ryan could care less if you or I thinks they are unclassy, he doesn't care if you think he's fat or if you think he stinks. They came, they saw and they won. They're unclassy.I have said for years now how I don't like how the Patriots play football when they're way ahead. They poor it on like no other claiming it's not their job to stop them. So games like the Jets had is karma coming back to the Patriots as far as I'm concerned.

It's violent, it's football it's not cricket or polo. Silly thread.
 I've never been able to figure out the Shark Pool's obsession with evaluating people's and teams' degrees of classiness. It's football. :lmao:
:lmao: :lmao:If you're looking for class, go to the ballet. Paul Brown once said, "There's nothing rah-rah about professional football. It's a cold, hard business."

Half? I think I'll take the over on that, brother. But still, :lmao:

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. HELLO!

(nothing else matters. I'm a Rams/Texans fan, but I love the way the Jets do business -> I think it's great for the NFL. Well, aside from Cromartie. Man that guy is dumb.)

ANYONE WHO IS ALRIGHT WITH THE SHREX COMMENT ABOUT IT BEING ABOUT HIM AND BILL IS BEYOND ME.
The guy takes all of the criticism if they lose, and gives 100% of the accolades if they win. That's the definition of class.Apparently, this concept is beyond you.
