OK, higher in the draft order, how abt stockpiling qb's for trade after the draft? here's what my mock ended up looking like from the 7 spot. Thoughts?
1. Josh Allen (Buf - QB)
2. Lamar Jackson (Bal - QB)
3. Jalen Hurts (Phi - QB)
4. Joe Burrow (Cin - QB)
5. Zay Flowers (Bal - WR)
6. DJ Moore (Chi - WR)
7. D'Andre Swift (Chi - RB)
8. Tony Pollard (Ten - RB)
9. David Njoku (Cle - TE)
10. Travis Hunter (Jax - WR)
11. Travis Etienne Jr. (Jax - RB)
12. Jakobi Meyers (LV - WR)
13. Tyjae Spears (Ten - RB)
14. Buffalo (Buf - DEF)
15. Harrison Butker (KC - K)

Drafting someone with the idea of trading them never works out. I have had leaguemates try this approach by taking multiple QB's early with the idea of trading them for a big haul. Never works. Nobody pays up because they know you are screwed and rather just let you wallow with studs you can never play.

It's just a bad idea overall.

although, tbf mine are dynasty so having a few extra QBs makes sense but I find the general "stock up on QB to try and trade them for exorbitant prices is just uncouth and like Gally says, doesn't seem to work out very well.

I'm in one league where dude has like 10 kickers (it's a large bench) and is hoping to trade them when ours get hurt (I assume that's his strat, otherwise I don't really see a point in having a kicker or 2...maybe 3?)

This is a different beast because it's not a single year. You never know what happens year to year so depth is needed and players develop. In redraft having 4 QB's in a 1 QB league does you no good. You lose on value big time. Everyone knows you are stuck so you can't get real value in trade. I have had guys try that and they have always been stuck with those QB's and don't have RB's or WR's to compete.

It's a favor to the league because it essentially makes it an 11 team league instead of a 12 team league.
