Ravens Backup RBs to See More Carries?

Baltimore Ravens HC Brian Billick hinted yesterday that there could be more opportunities for backup RBs Mike Anderson and Musa Smith in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Starting RB Jamal Lewis' production has tailed off in recent weeks. "We have a lot of confidence in all our backs," Billick said. "I'm not going to get caught up in who has how many carries. If a back is having a hot hand and running well, then we'll kind of ride that a little bit. But [Lewis] is running hard and he had some good tough runs. Each of them deserves to be 'The Guy' and get a lot of carries," Billick said.

Musa Smith is worth keeping an eye on the next few weeks.I believe he is already the 3rd down back.

I have not seen much of him but he seems to be the quickest back of the bunch.He would also seem to be th most likely of the group to be an every down back if he can take advantage of his opportunities.He would seem to have the most value in ppr leagues.

Musa Smith led the league in rushing this preseason, was a great sleeper pick coming out of the draft (before he sustained a couple ugly injuries), and is the most talented/youngest/most productive running back on the BAL roster.

There is no reason he won't at least get a look as an every-down back at some point. If he can stay healthy, he could very well cash in.

Excellent sleeper candidate, though he was a better buy probably about a month ago.

outstanding option in dynasty. dont think the possibilities materialize in 06 barring injury b/c of dumbash billick. any knucklehead can see that m anderson and/or smith are outperforming jamal..but billick doesnt care (see chester taylor 2005)

Great write up. Since I'm in a redraft league I don't typically read the dynasty watch.That info has potential regardless of league style.Althugh smith may not have any value in 06.Teams that can afford to sit on him may get a payoff later this year. It looks like he is going to get some opportunity real soon.It's possible he is no1 rb in the near future.
