Pretty sure it was 20 years ago this year. I was co-owner in my first fantasy season, kinda paying attention. Somehow found my way to FBGs...think it was just post cheatsheets.com? Ol yeller before big blue?
Ive forgotten those details, but clearly recall waking up and doing the usual stockings, a scrapple breakfast, and an early shot of Irish Creme (for those with a notebook, yes I’m Jewish, but dad remarried a Lutheran gal and I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a fairly traditional agnostic Christmas since I was 5).
What I recall most clearly was sitting on the john, reading this clique filled message board with the duality of the Shark Pool and FFA. I remember wondering how to get in with the cool kids on the board since everything seemed to be some inside joke among existing friends.
It’s weird how that memory has remained. Was the moment this community first became, well, a community to me.
To complete the story, I finished by business*, folded up my Sony Viao laptop
, and the took my requisite puffs on my batty, since the bathroom vent and the glade spray provided all the cover I needed.
A Merry FFA Christmas to all!
*no flinging pooperware in the ceiling, as this concept had not yet been introduced into my life.
