The FFA debut on the Beatles Channel on SiriusXM. NOW WITH (edited) AUDIO LINKS! (1 Viewer)

Krista are you in the back of a fancy RV there?
Ok, I see now.  Either that site picked up a Facebook profile pic* - I’ve had that happen with a couple of Meetup hiking groups and at least one other site - or I added a photo while drunk.  Either equally possible, I suppose.

Anyway, I was on the Orient Express from Bangkok to Singapore.

*Just noticed it's also the pic that comes up when I log into my computer.

I heard some snippets of the countdown, which is hosted by Peter Asher with a guest intro only every 10-15 songs.  Based on that, it’s clear that at #11 I have the most highly ranked song with a regular mope intro.  Take that, Beatle Fan Jeff from Ontario!

No need. Just watching hockey and listening to the Beatles channel even tho I dont like them that much ;)

Eleanor Rigby, huh?. Where did you rank this one? (I'm lazy)
30something.  36 maybe?  I’m lazy too.

Great song that belongs in the top 25.  But, as everyone knows, the Beatles have so many great songs that the top 25 gets crowded quickly and the top 50 or even top 75 is full of classics like Eleanor Rigby.   Ranking Beatles songs is really not enjoyable actually.

I missed the XM intro. I hope it went well. I watched all the video of Mr. krista and checked out the unedited audio clip of Song #3. Funny stuff.

Good work, k4. Mr. krista does not look like Zach Braff, BTW. Just for your edification.

OH - has her pic too

Actually, I was being stupid, as usual.

My original reference was in regards to the SNL video that Bink posted.

I was referring to the court room sketch of the DA.

However, if there is really a pic out there, I have not seen it.

Sorry for any confusion. I will work on being clearer.

This new spot sounds great; hoping that someone records it.

Thanks.  As to Mr. krista, I don’t think he looks like that guy anymore.  Sure did when we met, though.  A better-looking version of course.

Yeah, that’s how I took your original post.  Turns out there was a pic out there, though.  I've now changed it to something less cleavagy.

Beatle Fan chirping.....too good.

Ok, I didn't know that at the time Mr. krista was in the car filming reaction shots.  He had not heard any of this before.  He made a...a lot...of videos.  Here are a few favorites:

Rain - Ringo Showcase!

For No One intro

For No One - it touches us all
Mrs APK and APK daughter watched these videos tonight.  Mrs APK found the videos very amusing.  "His facial expressions are priceless."   Daughter APK had a different take:   "Her commentary on the songs sounds very professional.  I just wish it was more interesting."

Edit to add:  the daughter isn't an easy audience.  She finds most lectures boring - we blame it on the ADHD.  If Mr Krista acted out the same comments, she would probably find it insightful.

Heard #11 in the car yesterday (then listened to all the others here). Fantastic stuff! Like others have said, you have a natural radio voice - would not be surprised if they asked you back.

"Vocals by George, Paul and John, but no Beatles play any instruments at all..."

What the hell was Ringo doing?
Listening to the countdown today I heard Dear Prudence.  I didn't realize Ringo had left the group for a short time and wasn't around for that recording.  Eleanor Rigby was a couple years earlier though so

Ringo wasn't around for Dear Prudence or Back In The U.S.S.R, during the time he quit.  Paul played drums on those.  Paul also played drums on Ballad of John and Yoko as Ringo was working on a movie.  Just a few where he wasn't there.  Others are the single versions of Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You (but not the album versions), where George Martin brought a fill-in because he wasn't sure Ringo was good enough.

For Eleanor Rigby, the decision was made to have the string section act as the drums, keeping time.  It's brilliant.  ETA:  My write-up of Eleanor Rigby is here.

Very cool fact :  As I listen to the countdown, @krista4 is the first person to introduce a song in the countdown other than the main host.

Eleanor Rigby
Voters: 11
Comp: 7
K4: 36
Me: 1

Pretty sure Krista was the only one to introduce a song other than the main guy.
I heard two others:  Freakin' Beatles Fan Mike at #6 and someone else earlier at 90 or so?  There were probably more; I muted most every time a song wasn't on.

Just so you guys won't be suddenly shocked if you hear my voice again, or if you're like me and want to be sure NOT to be listening to the Beatles Channel at this time...my My Fab Four is being rerun this week (all times PDT)
