Because, you know, with the combine not here yet, CLEARLY it's possible to put together a legitimate first-round mock. Anyway, curious to hear what homers have to say about their team. My team is Jacksonville, and I think they'll take Balmer because they're quietly a little soft in the middle of the defensive line. Stroud can't be counted on, and Henderson had a tough year. They'll address other needs like DE in free agency, and I think they'll take the highest-rated big guy on their board.

I have a hard time seeing the baltimore pick. I expect either CB, pass rusher, or OT there (Jenkins/McKelvin, Gholston, Clady... i.e., sloppy seconds after NE gets the pick of the list). If it was QB, the only one that seems worthy of a top 8 pick is Ryan.

Even if the Texans fail to re-sign Andre Davis, the combo of Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter , and Jacoby Jones still is solid enough to to keep WR from being very high on the need list. IMO, doubtful that the Texans take a WR with a pick before the 5th round. The way your draft fell, I would suggest that Chris williams OT from Vandy or a RB Mendenhall, Stewart or Jones would have been the better option.

Good effort. Only two criticisms I have is that I don't think Brohm is going to go ahead of Ryan and Bowman probably played himself out of the first with his Senior bowl performance.

It's easier to be a critic -

SO with that said.

Historically, LBs fall outside the top 10 picks.

Also, I understand the Dallas love for F.Jones, but believe that you should have your picks flip-flopped as WR is a more pressing need than RB.

I also see J.Stewart going in the low 'teens as there is a group of teams, Arz,Det,Chi that could take a stab at him there, and if somehow it get pass them.

Otherwise, besides movement of 1 or 2 spots for my preference, I don't mind the list.

I've said somethign to this effect in most other mocks:

Cowboys will use at least 1 of the firsts on a CB. Maybe both 1sts, especially if 1 can play safety. It is the 1 position that cost them games the past year. Both starters will be 30+ next year. Rookie DBs tend to play well, unlike rookie WRs.

The Cowboys are built to win now. They're not likely to want to wait for a WR to develop. I'm not saying WR isnt a need. I am saying I don't think the draft is how they'll fill it. The draft is too risky at WR. Again, they are built to win now.

As for a 1st round RB. They already have a young pro bowl RB in Barber. Why burn a 1st rounder on a player you know won't be a full time starter for several years? Especially when quality guys can be found much later in the draft. Now maybe Felix is explosive enough as a return specialist to justify getting picked high. Dallas could use an upgraded return guy. But thats really the only way to justify burning such a high pick on a backup RB.
