Please feel free to critique, criticize, comment, or anything else you feel the need to do

1. Indianapolis Andrew Luck QB Stanford

Possibly the most obvious pick in the last 15 years of the draft. There is a chance they take RGIII, but they are only hosting Luck for a private workout..done deal IMO

2. Washington RGIII QB Baylor

Might be the 2nd most obvious pick in the last 15 years…This trade was made in March, so we all know who they are targeting…nothing much to say except these first two picks come draft day may take 8 seconds each!!

3. Minnesota Matt Kalil OT USC

Vikes need help everywhere, but we all know they are built around ADP. They released Hutch, so they also desperately need to protect Ponder..this pick makes the most sense.

4. Cleveland Trent Richardson RB 'Bama

Brownies have lacked offensive playmakers for quite some time (see Braylon Edwards circa 2004). TR is being labeled as the best RB to come out since ADP. With the top 2 QB's gone, Cleveland will give another go to McCoy and give him somewhat of a supporting cast

5. Tampa Bay Morris Claiborne DB LSU

Due to the disaster that IS Aqib Talib, TB continues to re-tool and take the best Defensive player in this years draft, imo. They upgraded their offense via Free Agency so now they turn to the defensive side of the ball

6. St. Louis Justin Blackmon WR OSU

Rams take what is a no-brainer pick. Everyone saw last year what happened to Bradford with no weapons…fills an instant void for years to come

7. Jacksonville Riley Reiff OT Iowa

Jax would love to trade this pick, but cannot find any suitors. They take the next best OT prospect behind Khalil, and start to build from the inside out. They are in desperate need for skill position players, but decide to address that later in the draft

8. Miami Ryan Tannehill QB A&M

This is Jake Locker/Christian Ponder 2.0. I don't like Tannehill enough for him to go this early, but this seems to be the trend anymore. Miami really has no other option at this point. They have no WR's, a decent rushing attack, and a decent defense

9. Carolina Quinton Coples DE UNC

Coples is labeled as the best pash rusher in this draft, and Carolina is still trying to fill the void left by Peppers. They are ok on offense, and need to get after the likes of Brees, Ryan, and Freeman in the NFC South.

10. Buffalo Luke Kuechly LB BC

With the additions of Mark Anderson and Mario Williams, they are set at pass rusher. Now it's time to address the other piece of their defense… A stout MLB that can do it all…enter Kuechly. If he went somewhere other than BC, he would be all over the sports world..this kid will be something special (and I hate BC...tough for me to acknowledge this)

*Trade*

11. Philadelphia trade with KC Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina

Ingram is going to shoot up draft boards (if he hasn't already). He can play DE in a 4-3, or a rush OLB in a 3-4. He is being touted as an every down player, and Philly has nothing outside of Trent cole. Philly gives up a 3rd pick to KC to move up 4 spots

12. Seattle David DeCastro G Stanford

The SeaChickens really wanted Ingram, but Philly jumped ahead and took him. They lost Gallery in FA, and need to re-tool their OL. DeCastro is the best G in the draft, and they can start to build around Beast Mode (Happy fantasy owner here)

13. Arizona Michael Floyd WR ND

I've had Floyd here since January, and I am still not sure about this. It would not surprise me at all if Floyd dropped until the end of the 1st. I just don't know. They are sticking with Kolb, and they need something opposite of Fitzy

14. Dallas Dre Kirkpatrick DB 'Bama

Dallas could care less about "off the field issues". Kirkpatrick is a taller corner with the speed of someone who is 5'7". With the addition of Brandon Carr (you will be missed), they have a stout def. backfield for years to come.

15 Kansas City Michael Brockers DT LSU

I don't necessarily like this pick for my boys, but I can see it happening. DT is the only weakspot on their defense, and they have only 2 on the current roster..a 6th round pick from last year, and a guy from the practice squad. Say hello to the ALL-LSU defensive front for the Chefs (that's great..but who are the Chefs)

16. New York Jets Jonathan Martin OT Stanford

Martin will fill in on the right side of the line opposite B'Brickashaw. They are a running team and need to protect Sanchize, I mean Tebow, I mean Sanchize…etc. I hate the Jets for picking up Tebow b/c ESPN is now unlistenable (is that even a word?)

17. Cincinnati - from Oakland Janoris Jenkins CB N. Alabama

This kid enrolled at Florida (before he left/kicked out)…need help here @mitchgaffney…anyway, he had the skills to play at Florida, but ended his college career at N. 'Bama..so we know he can play.. And we are talking about the Bungles here, who don’t care about character and need to replace Jonathan Joseph

*Trade*

18. Denver trade with SD Dontari Powe DT Memphis

Denver has no one at DT…they were upset about losing Broderick Bunkley, so what does that tell you. Anyway, they make this trade, give up this year's 3rd round pick, and draft what will be the biggest bust of this years draft. He was unspectacular against mid-level competition, but b/c he had a great combine, he gets drafted here.

19. Chicago Mike Adams OT OSU

The Bears have attempted to upgrade their OL for 3 years now, albeit, unsuccessfully. We all saw what happened to Cutler last year, so they really have no other choice

20. Tennessee Donta Hightower LB 'Bama

Hightower is the #2 rated MLB behind Kuechly and immediately provides stability for the Titans. He reminds me of a Urlacher type of player

21. Cincinnati Cordy Glenn G Georgia

As the 2nd best G in the draft, Cincy continues to build around AJ and Dalton. He can play RT or G, and they need a replacement for Bobbie Williams.

22. Cleveland - from Atlanta Stephen Hill WR GT

The Browns strike again…take combine standout Stephen Hill. I don't think this kid is a first round talent (didn’t think it of Greg Little either). They continue to build their offense to try and hang with the others in the AFC north

23. Detroit Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina

I really like this pick. Detroit will go CB…100%. Brandon Marshall comes to the division, and the Packers passing attack is the best in the league. They have the players to rush the QB, and now need to shore up the back end of the defense.

24 Pittsburgh Devon Still DT PSU

With Casey Hampton not coming back, there is a massive (no pun intended) void left in the middle of their DL. Still can play and will eat up two lineman to allow their athletic LB's to make plays….

25. San Diego Courtney Upshaw OLB 'Bama

Rushing the passer was the achilles heal of SD last year. Upshaw is the best OLB left on the board so this becomes a relatively easy decision

*Trade*

26. St. Louis trade with Houston Coby Fleener TE Stanford

With the King's ransom the Rams got from Washington, they have the ammo to move up and take Fleener..Bradford's fantasy stock keeps getting better.

27. New England - from New Orleans Mark Barron S 'Bama

Lets be honest…their secondary is putrid. Barron gives them an immediate starter who has played against the best the college ranks had to offer. Love the pick.

28. Green Bay Peter Konz C Wisonsin

Jeff Saturday is a hundred and Peter Konz just fits the GB offensive mold. He is a hometown Wisconsin boy; and a bruiser. That’s all I got

29. Baltimore Dwayne Allen TE Clemson

Baltimore can really go anywhere here. I chose Allen b/c there is no WR left to take here (Jeffry will fall to the 2nd round) and Allen can spread out wide (a la Todd Heap 4 years ago) and help Flacco immensely

30. SF Nick Perry DE USC

This is a hit or miss pick IMO. He can play, and if he works out, will be a nice addition opposite of Aldon Smith, who led all rookies last year in sacks. SF continues to build on the defensive side of the ball

31. New England David Wilson RB VT

The Law Firm is in Cincy, and you and I both know that Ridley and Vereen don’t' have "it". Wilson is a nice player, but would not be an every down back on most teams. But for NE and their type of offense, he fits the bill perfectly.

32. NYG Andre Branch DE Clemson

Finally, we all know that the Gmen love drafting and developing DL. Branch is a player who will be a sub-package type of player his rookie year, but can make strides to be a every down player by year 2 or 3.

good mock but I dont think the packers take a backup center when nick perry could help them a ton pass rushing

I dont see NE drafting a RB at all this year, let alone in the first round, this makes less sense to me than the hundred other mocks that suggest they will go for a WR in the first round.

Some interesting trades. St. Louis does have the ammo to move back up and Fleener could be a target. Not sure about Denver trading with San Diego.

Also agree that David Wilson doesn't strike me as a New England type of back but stranger things have happened.

Konz is a possibility for the Packers (and the Bears and a few other teams)but I would still think they go Mercilus (or trading up for Upshaw) Packers have 11 picks this year, might as well trade up because they know not all 11 are making it.

If they have a chance to fill opposite Clay Mathews I think they will do what it takes.

He is being touted as an every down player, and Philly has nothing outside of Trent cole. Philly gives up a 3rd pick to KC to move up 4 spots
I will say the Deranged Hermit has said the Philly has had discussions with KC concerning this pick so this trade could quite possibly happen. I would expect the Eagles to go either DL, CB or an outside chance they'd take Kuechly with the first pick. But to say Philly has nothing outside of Trent Cole? Jason Babin begs to differ.

RB in general is not a position I have ever thought of NE addressing. Considering they have 2 firsts, and taking Mark Barron earlier, I took a shot in the dark with Wilson. Probably won't happen, but I thought I would go a different route than most other mocks.

True...probably not a thorough enough explanation on my part. Babin is 32, and could use an understudy.

We kind of got into this in the other mock draft thread, but I don't see the Cowboys taking Kirkpatrick at all. He doesn't play man very well and I keep hearing some say he doesn't play the deep ball that well either. I do like Philly's trade to get Ingram (well actually I hate it, but it's realistic). Nice job, though, I can see it all happening.

Thanks. This one was kinda fun to do. This was my 4.0 version. I started in December.

The Pats need to add to their front seven...that's their biggest weakness...while they can use help in the secondary that unit will look a lot better if the pressure up-front becomes more consistent...as for RB I don't know how you can say Ridley/Vereen don't have it after one year...Ridley looked very intriguing last year and Vereen is still an unknown but I don't think you can give up on a second rounder after one injury-filled year...drafting a RB would be a luxury for the Pats and with their needs on defense it's not one they should be taking...

Hampton is expected back and Still is not a NT.

I hope you are wrong about the Broncos trading up to get Poe. I completely agree with your assessment that he will be a bust.

I dont see Buffalo taking a MLB. Either OT or WR seem far more likely.

Dallas is rather unlikely to take Kirkpatrick, as mentioned. If you're going corner there, then maybe Gilmore. But everything I'm reading on Cowboy boards suggests defensive front 5 (front 7 less MLBs) or interior OL. Those are the two areas where there is some value on the board and also Dallas need. CB in either the 2nd or 3rd seems to match up much better in terms of value.

Agreed on all fronts except Gilmore. I don't like any of the top 3 as far as risk goes.Jenkins...most talent and most kids.Dre...hearing he is seen as a FS by most scouts and doesn't tackle well.Gilmore at 14...no thanks...no value there. I understand why non Cowboys fans keep mocking us a corner. However, most fans do not expect to see us take a first round corner and for good reason. If the board was really like this we take a DT or attempt to trade down imo.

I'd be pretty surprised if they traded up for a DE. I'm sure they've still got high hopes for Brandon Graham and they seem to really like Phillip Hunt as well. I think they'd be much more likely to take DT than DE.

The Ravens have been very happy with Dixon and Pitta who are both entering their 3rd year. I will be extremely unhappy if Baltimore uses a first rounder on a TE.

We need at least a G or C, and a DE out of this draft. That said, Ozzie has been very good at picking up talent that has slipped to the end of the first. I think the Ravens go best available in the first, G/C in the second, and look for a pass rusher somewhere along the way.

I know the perception is the Bengals don't care about character, but in the Marvin Lewis era, they have never spent a 1st round pick on a bad character guy. They've passed on multiple bad character guys at positions of need (recent example, passed on Dez Bryant despite big need at WR) in the 1st round.

I would be absolutely shocked if they took Janoris Jenkins in the 1st round.

It's not until later in the draft where the picks are less valuable that they start taking risks on talented guys with character risks (like if Jenkins fell to the 2nd round, Bengals might be the team to stop his fall), but they really gravitate towards character types in the 1st round (AJ Green, David Pollack, Leon Hall, Jonathan Joseph, Carson Palmer, Levi Jones, Jermaine Gresham, etc.).

Just a little clarification here: Seattle released Gallery--he wasn't lost in FA. They also have spent 3 early picks (a 1st in 2010; a 1st and 3rd in 2011) on the O-line and I don't see them doing it again. I believe they are happy with Breno Giacomini at RT and will eventually move Carpenter to LG.Based on our lack of LB movement and no backup for Chris Clemons I would expect Seattle to pick Courtney Upshaw with #12 given your mock as it stands today because of his versatility, otherwise go BPA (which I don't think is DeCastro). Besides, 12 is a little high for a guard.

The Rams used a high pick on a TE last year. I can see them working harder to develop him (Getting him a full offseason with the QB would help) before taking a TE in the first round, much less trade up for one. Pretty good mock otherwise....

Attempt #2

Possibly the most obvious pick in the last 15 years of the draft. There is a chance they take RGIII, but they are only hosting Luck for a private workout..done deal IMO

6. St. Louis Justin Blackmon WR OSU

7. Seattle Ryan Tannehill QB A&M

This is Jake Locker/Christian Ponder 2.0. I don't like Tannehill enough for him to go this early, but this seems to be the trend anymore. Experts are torn on him but Pete Carroll knows what he has in Tarvaris but Matt Flynn is an unknown at this point.

8. Miami Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina

Ingram is going to shoot up draft boards (if he hasn't already). He can play DE in a 4-3, or a rush OLB in a 3-4. He is being touted as an every down player, and Miami has nothing outside of Wake, who is in a contract year and has yet to sign his franchise tender.

9. Carolina Quinton Coples DE UNC

Coples is labeled as the best pash rusher in this draft, and Carolina is still trying to fill the void left by Peppers. They are ok on offense, and need to get after the likes of Brees, Ryan, and Freeman in the NFC South.

11. Philadelphia trade with KC Fletcher Cox DT Miss St.

When doing the other mocks, I completely forgot how putrid Philly's run defense was a year ago. Fletcher Cox is going to be the #1 DT taken in the draft and he will start as a rookie for this defense.

12. Jacksonville Michael Floyd WR ND

I am not sure about this. It would not surprise me at all if Floyd dropped until the end of the 1st. I just don't know. Jacksonville has the least amount of playmakers out of any team in the NFL and has to do something to excite the fanbase

13. Arizona Jonathan Martin OT Stanford

Martin will fill in on the right or left side of the line. Arizona needs to move towards a power running team behind Beanie, and not let Kolb try to win every game.

14. Dallas Mark Barron S 'Bama

Lets be honest…their secondary is putrid. Barron gives them an immediate starter who has played against the best the college ranks had to offer. Love the pick.

15 Kansas City David DeCastro G Stanford

DeCastro is the best G in the draft, and they can start to build around Jamal Charles. KC can honestly go in so many directions here. I would not be surprised of another trade down, but if they stay, they go the safe route with DeCastro.

16. New York Jets* Whitney Mercilus OLB Illinois

Will the fans boo? I don't think they will with this pick. He can rush the passer, and has been productive in a tough Big 10. After the Vernon Gholston disaster, they hope to right the ship and have someone who can get to the QB

17. Cincinnati - from Oakland Kendall Wright WR Baylor

I know, I know. Another 1st round WR? Well, they need something opposite of AJ Green who will get double teamed without help. Wright is a speedster and a perfect compliment to AJ. He will also return kicks on ST

*Trade*

18.. Detroit* Trade with SD Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina

I really like this pick. Detroit will try to go CB…100%. Brandon Marshall comes to the division, and the Packers passing attack is the best in the league. They have the players to rush the QB, and now need to shore up the back end of the defense.

19. Chicago Mike Adams OT OSU

22. Cleveland - from Atlanta* Dre Kirkpatrick DB 'Bama

For the value, Cleveland could care less about "off the field issues". Kirkpatrick is a taller corner with the speed of someone who is 5'7". He will immediately team up with Joe Haden to stop the crop of WR's that occupy the AFC North.

23. San Diego Courtney Upshaw OLB 'Bama

Rushing the passer was the achilles heal of SD last year. Upshaw is the best OLB left on the board so this becomes a relatively easy decision

24 Pittsburgh* Michael Brockers DT LSU

With Casey Hampton potentially not coming back, there is a massive (no pun intended) void left in the middle of their DL. Brockers can play and will eat up two lineman to allow their athletic LB's to make plays….

With the King's ransom the Rams got from Washington, they have the ammo to move up and take an OT. Jason Smith is a backup at this point.

27. New England - from New Orleans* Janoris Jenkins CB N. Alabama

This kid enrolled at Florida (before he left/kicked out)…anyway, he had the skills to play at Florida, but ended his college career at N. 'Bama..so we know he can play.

28. Green Bay* Nick Perry DE USC

This is a hit or miss pick IMO. He can play, and if he works out, will be a nice addition opposite of Matthews.

29. Baltimore* Stephen Hill WR GT

Balt takes combine standout Stephen Hill. I don't think this kid is a first round talent. They continue to build their offense to try and hang with the others in the AFC north

30. SF Coby Fleener TE Stanford

Some are saying that he may be the most overrated player in this entire draft. Nonetheless, Harbaugh goes with the familiar face and has a nice 2 TE set with Vernon Davis.

31. New England Andre Branch DE Clemson

We all know that NE need help on D. Branch is a player who will be a sub-package type of player his rookie year, but can make strides to be a every down player by year 2 or 3.

32. NYG David Wilson RB VT

With Jacobs in SF and Bradshaw hurt every other hour, the Gmen go away from the norm and take RB here. Great value.

Nicely done. Only nitpick is that I think the Cardinals would like Cordy Glenn over Jonathan Martin.

And...David Wilson before Doug Martin?

To be honest, those are the exact two thoughts I pondered myself. I feel as thought Martin vs. Wilson will be a GM decision, as teams will like one over another.

Chicago Mike Adams OT OSU The Bears have attempted to upgrade their OL for 3 years now, albeit, unsuccessfully. We all saw what happened to Cutler last year, so they really have no other choice20. Tennessee Donta Hightower LB 'Bama Hightower is the #2 rated MLB behind Kuechly and immediately provides stability for the Titans. He reminds me of a Urlacher type of player21. Cincinnati Cordy Glenn G Georgia As the 2nd best G in the draft, Cincy continues to build around AJ and Dalton. He can play RT or G, and they need a replacement for Bobbie Williams.22. Cleveland - from Atlanta* Dre Kirkpatrick DB 'Bama For the value, Cleveland could care less about "off the field issues". Kirkpatrick is a taller corner with the speed of someone who is 5'7". He will immediately team up with Joe Haden to stop the crop of WR's that occupy the AFC North.23. San Diego Courtney Upshaw OLB 'Bama Rushing the passer was the achilles heal of SD last year. Upshaw is the best OLB left on the board so this becomes a relatively easy decision24 Pittsburgh* Michael Brockers DT LSU With Casey Hampton potentially not coming back, there is a massive (no pun intended) void left in the middle of their DL. Brockers can play and will eat up two lineman to allow their athletic LB's to make plays….25. Denver* Dontari Powe DT Memphis Denver has no one at DT…they were upset about losing Broderick Bunkley, so what does that tell you. Anyway, they make this trade, give up this year's 3rd round pick, and draft what will be the biggest bust of this years draft. He was unspectacular against mid-level competition, but b/c he had a great combine, he gets drafted here.*Trade* 26. St. Louis trade with Houston Riley Reiff OT Iowa With the King's ransom the Rams got from Washington, they have the ammo to move up and take an OT. Jason Smith is a backup at this point.27. New England - from New Orleans* Janoris Jenkins CB N. Alabama This kid enrolled at Florida (before he left/kicked out)…anyway, he had the skills to play at Florida, but ended his college career at N. 'Bama..so we know he can play.28. Green Bay* Nick Perry DE USC This is a hit or miss pick IMO. He can play, and if he works out, will be a nice addition opposite of Matthews.29. Baltimore* Stephen Hill WR GT Balt takes combine standout Stephen Hill. I don't think this kid is a first round talent. They continue to build their offense to try and hang with the others in the AFC north30. SF Coby Fleener TE Stanford Some are saying that he may be the most overrated player in this entire draft. Nonetheless, Harbaugh goes with the familiar face and has a nice 2 TE set with Vernon Davis.31. New England Andre Branch DE Clemson We all know that NE need help on D. Branch is a player who will be a sub-package type of player his rookie year, but can make strides to be a every down player by year 2 or 3.32. NYG David Wilson RB VT With Jacobs in SF and Bradshaw hurt every other hour, the Gmen go away from the norm and take RB here. Great value.
Nice attemptHowever, Steelers would be much, much more interested in Poe than Brockers; as Brockers projects to a 4-3 DT/3-4 DE, rather than a NT; which is what Poe would be.
