My Top Three RB Tiers at First Glance (1 Viewer)

I think T.Jones is going t be a nice pick up relative to where hes drafted in most eagues. The Jets were productive in producing rushing TDs and I dont think they will be pulling Jones at the stripe in favor of Houston
Houston isnt close to the runner TJones is and that includes down by the goal line.
Leon Washington is Jones' competition, not Houston.
If the Jets thought Leon could be the guy than why did they trade for TJones? it makes no sense.
I think Jones is the #1 going into week 1, but if anyone would unseat Jones it would be Washington not Houston.
I think the Jets want to use Jones as the feature back and get him 15-20 carries, and use Washington as a 3rd down rb, but still get him involved a lot in the offense with 8-12 touches. Washington is a very good player, I think that Jet tandem is going to be very good, especially if they find a road grader type guard in the draft

People knocking Ronnie Brown may want to take note that Corey Schlesinger is now in Miami.

Cameron has alluded to a FB usage like Lorenzo Neal in SD, with Brown playing the LT2 role.

The comparison stops there, but the focus on the run game (and style) is noteworthy.

The Sporting News
I dont see him breaking my top ten though, what says you?
We pretty much covered this last month in this thread:Top 25 PPR RBs

Here is my list, copied from Post 13:

Purely off the cuff:

1. LT2

2. SJax

3. LJ

4. Westy

5. Gore

6. SA

7. Rudi

8. Addai

9. Portis

10. MB3

12. Maroney

12. Bush

13. McGahee

14. FWP

15. Ronnie Brown

16. Benson

17. MJD

18. Edge

19. Deuce

20. Chester Taylor

21. Reuben Droughns (in GB)

22. De. Williams (not much from Foster, but enough to make him RB2/3 material)

23. THenry (in RBBC for sure)

24. LenDale White

25. L.Jordan

26. TJones (also strong RBBC here)

27. Cadillac Williams

28. Ahman Green

29. J.Lewis

30. Tatum Bell (with some KJones this year)

31. Dunn

32. Norwood

Remember this is a PPR list, so pass-catchers go up (Westy, Gore), pure runners go down (SA, Rudi).

I emphasized feature backs first, then committee / RBBC guys next. I expect Henry and TJones to be fully in a committee situation.
Haven't thought about changes since then, but I don't think there's many. Obviously Rube changes.

Mine: LT SJSALJ- I really wanna drop him lowerPortisAddaiGore ParkerRudiEdge
Initially I liked Portis a lot, but he drops in PPRs, also with Betts hanging around...I don't know, I just see quite a bit of risk there. A guy I would love to draft in the second round, but wouldn't draft in the first.
I'm fully prepared to be disappointed by the team again leaning too heavily on Portis, but this is the way that I hope the numbers play out as between he and Betts:
Code:
+----------------------+----+-----------------------+----------------------+| Name				 |  G |  RSH  YARD   AVG  TD  |  REC  YARD   AVG  TD |+----------------------+----+-----------------------+----------------------+| Ladell Betts	   | 16 |   210   987   4.7	 3  |   45   428   9.5   2 || Clinton Portis	   | 16 |  290  1276   4.4   13  |   30   255   8.5   1 |+----------------------+----+-----------------------+----------------------+
The thinking is this: Campbell has shown the ability already to hit deep passes, so Betts' 4.7 ypc last year was not illusory. I'm not worried about the o-line losing Dockery any more, so I think that'll be a non-issue. Portis should be 100% healthy and I think (hope?) the team will try to keep him that way by limiting his carries to less than 300. Betts will be the 3rd down/long yardage RB, so his ypc will be higher and he'll also get more receptions (he's the superior receiver of the two, not that Portis is bad). Portis, however, is the clear RB1 here, and should have solid RB1 numbers, but his days in the top 4 are over as long as they use Betts to keep him fresh.
Betts owner I can see
:goodposting: Guess again.

Intersting thing about Edge there Hucks being in AZ and all, they have improved their Oline - 0%, and I doubt a rookie will have a huge impact, I take it you think Grimm/Wisen up-coaching is enough. I know Edge had a strong 2nd half, but Im colored a skeptic right now.
The last 5 games edge was on pace for 1484 yards rushing and 10 TDs
Shhh...
lol, so was Ron Dayne
:goodposting:

1. LT2. LJ3. Jackson4. Alexander5. Westbrook6. Bush7. Parker8. Gore9. Addai10. Edge11. Rudi12. Henry13. Maroney14. Portis
 I'd probably move Maroney up to the 2nd tier, tho..Alexander has at least one good , 15-20 td type of year left. Gore at #8 or #9 is perfect, IMO. He's going to see a drop in his stats across the board, without Turner calling plays in SF , and he's always an injury risk. I'd probably swap Rudi for Bush. for that matter, I'd probably put Deuce ahead of Bush, he's the main ball carrier down there..Rudi is a rock, gets the same #'s nearly every year. This Bengals team should be much improved in 2007, with a healthy Palmer. I'm not sure Edge deserves to be ranked so high, he looks to me like he's lost something. Portis at #14 is a good call..How's this?1. LT2. LJ3. Jackson4. Alexander5. Westbrook6. Rudi7. Parker8. Maroney9. Gore10. Addai11. TJ12. Deuce13. Henry14. Portisyou've got to figure guys like Lynch, or Turner ( should he be traded) , or AD, should muscle their way into the top 10. I mean, if Turner is traded to GB, for instance, he'd have to be considered a top 10 RB, right?its a big 'if', I know...

nah, just not a big fan of extrapolating a small sample size.

It's possible, but its hard to project that for him in BB's system...which I don't believe has had a top 5 back ever.

Agreed

Bush's points are sneaky points especially in ppr...once that NO offense got rolling he was easily a top 5 back...he's one of the safer ppr picks IMHO.

not in a ppr...it's not even close.

agreed, but I like where I have Rudi

I'll be higher on Edge than most...you can put up top 10 numbers with mediocre YPC

Rookies rarely finish top 10...we'll see where they land.

I wouldn't put Turner in my top 10 if he landed in GB...he'd be around 20 off the cuff.
