I'm just going to list the picks without any commentary as I think enough people who are smarter than me have broken down most of these guys in other posts. I'm just using basic position abbreviations..OL,DL,LB etc....not breaking it down into DE or OLB as again I figure if you are reading peoples mocks you pretty much know the positions and let's face it some of the DEs may end up as LBers anyway.....

21)Washington-M Kelly(WR) 52)Washington-Q Groves(DL)
I know it's popular to mock the 'Skins with a WR in the first but it's far from their most glaring need. OL and DL are at the top of the 'Skins need list. I'd even put CB and possible S above WR as a team need.I'm also not convinced that the WRs with first round grades are that much better prospects than some predicted to go on the second day. It will be much harder to find a OL or DL on the second day that can make an immediate impact in the starting lineup. If they could come away with Cherilus (who you have still available at #21) and Groves with their first two picks I'd be pretty psyched.

I would be very happy if Otah lasted to Philly's pick, but I don't think he will.

I don't see Kenny Phillips lasting all the way to 44, either.

Funny how Albert jumped from the mid-late 20s to 5th as soon as Kiper put him up there in his mocks. Seen this pick alot since Kiper did it. Very strange.

Albert is on a path just like the Tackle Arizona took last year, he shot up and up and went at #5. I could see it happening. Overall, very good mock.

46)Detroit0J Charles(RB)51)Arizona-M Forte(RB)60)Indianapolis-R Rice(RB)
No issue with the order of these guys per say, just the placement. Detroit has its speed back in Tatum Bell. Why bring in another pure speed guy? I could see Rice as a better fit in Det then in Indy. Charles would be a good compliment in AZ or in Indy more then in Det.46)Detroit - R Rice(RB) 51)Arizona-J Charles(RB) 60)Indianapolis-M Forte(RB)I would suggest this may be a better fit for each team.
14)Chicago-R Mendenhall(RB) 27)San Diego-A Talib(DB)
As a Mendenhall fan/owner I like this. As a SD fan, it fills a need at CB. At least you didnt have them taking a wr or rb (i have seen both). I would love it if they traded down a few, went with a CB, OL, DT and got another pick to get a backup RB like Forte or Choice.

Albert has been mocked as a top 10 pick in most of the mocks I've seen over the past 2-3 weeks. I have a hard time believing they are all parroting Kiper.Albert had what has widely been regarded as a tremendous pro day. There was obviously an audible buzz around the league regarding him after that day. So much so that I'm sure more than just Kiper picked up on it.

If Rice goes to Detroit, Bell will be sitting on the bench. Any team that takes Charles or Forte over Rice is completely nuts.

As a Bengals fan, I would take both USC DL (Ellis, Jackson) in the first 2 rounds and be thrilled.

I do have to question only 3 LBs being drafted in the first 2 rounds. Where are guys like Lofton, Henderson and Gooden?

Thanks for all the input so far folks. I really enjoy getting to hear other peoples thoughts, especially fans, and homers of teams I don't have alot of info on. To address a couple of the points brought up.

As I sat down to do this mock and was jotting down some preliminary notes I had Albert going to the Lions at #15(wishful thinking as a former Mich resident living in AZ now)but was admittedly swayed to move him up by Mike Mayock raving about him. Kiper moving him up just made the move seem to fit even more.

As for Washington going WR. I actually had the thought that maybe they would go with Merling if I decided his injury would cause Minny to pass on him but ultimately had the Vikes go ahead and take him. Then seeing that I still Kelly on the board and knowing Washington would probably go WR in one of the two first rounds I went with the idea that he's be hard to pass up there if he checks out physically.

As for the Rice, Charles and Forte RB selections in the 2nd round I agree with what was suggested here and will definitely do a shuffling in any future mocks. Makes more sense than what I had.

I will also admit to following the pack with the McFadden to the Jets pick. I'm not of the mind that they really need a RB in round one and could use Gholston and he'd be hard to pass on. Got to over thinking what happens to McFadden if the Jets pass on him and how far would he fall.....so went with the easy pick and just slotted him to NY.

With Otah and Phillips I probably fell into the out of sight out of mind trap. Neither player has gotten alot of hype lately and I very possibly could have slated them a bit too low.

With the lack of LBers being taken in the first two rounds I think I am relying on all the reports I've read or heard about the overall lack of LB talent in this years draft. As I head forward with mock #2 I will definitely be looking much deeper into team needs and evaluate the LBers again. I just wanted to get this mock out there and hear some input ad as i said earlier I love it!! Keep it coming!!

I doubt very seriously that Dallas takes 2 offensive players in the 1st round when their biggest need is in the secondary. Factor in there is great value for CBs and maybe safety late in the 1st.

See if you can find one mock that has Albert as a top 10 pick before Kiper released his latest mock mid-last week.

I actually feel that Dallas may indeed go with a WR and a RB in the first round based on the idea that they will get the Pac Man trade done before they are on the clock. That would free them up to go more offensively minded and I think Jerry Jones wants Romo to have more weapons.

I first thought of moving Albert up after seeing Mike Mayocks latest mock on the NFL Network last week. He had him going to New England at #7. I honestly don't remember which day it was last week in comparison to whenever Kiper put out his latest mock. Once I saw where Mayock had him going and then did get a chance to see that Kiper had him even higher I decided to move him into the top 10.

PacMan has too much risk. Even if he lands in DAL he is one step away from another ban. No way DAL can afford to go into the season with that risk, seeing as that the secondary costed them late last year. I would grab a CB and Phillips if he is available with both 1st rounders and look for a RB in the 2nd. The offense was good last year, the pass coverage was not.
