Concur with this so you can include Steve Smith as well as the previously mentioned J. StewartDeAngelo Williams - pathetic product put out on the field by Carolina.

Might have been hindsight for you, but I drafted none of these guys and I have picked up Vick, TO, MSW, and CHI D/ST off of waivers in a 14-team league. Doesn't mean I'm gonna win, but it means I play smart.20/20 hindsight is a beautiful thing. Also, guys like Miles Austin, MSW and Colston had ONE breakout year last year. If you bet the farm on these guys in round 1 or 2 because of one good year, then shame on you. You had to figure defenses are going to focus on them this year.
Good job on never having a bad draft pick, but I don't think hindsight means what you think it means. I bet the farm on a guy who had one breakout season last year, and took him at the elbow in the first round. He ended up rushing for 2,000 yards. My point is that you sighting guys who have only had one big season as players to avoid in early rounds is not a very strong argument.Might have been hindsight for you, but I drafted none of these guys and I have picked up Vick, TO, MSW, and CHI D/ST off of waivers in a 14-team league. Crap, how could I forget Moss... He was my first round pick in PPR at #9 and I have questioned starting him many times.May be forced to put him yet again, but have to keep expectations low.Randy Moss is #1. In other leagues I'm blaming Ryan Grant, CJ Spiller, and Beanie Wells.
Dude. You CANNOT complain about Hakeem Nicks!wlwiles said:My problem isn't one person, but a combination of receivers and backs that take turns scoring me less than 1 pt. I hit a 4 game losing streak after Week 4 with the following:Week 5 Tim Hightower: 0.6 ptsWeek 6 Hakeem Nicks: 0.8 ptsWeek 7 Brent Celek: 0.8 pts (Keller was on bye)Week 8 Marshawn Lynch: 0.7 ptsThat 4 game skid plus Schaub turning into Jake Delhomme have put me at 3-6 for the year...
I drafted Pierre Thomas but soured on him even though he had a solid first game, and moved him for Ahmad Bradshaw. Seemed good.I don't know if it's possible to have ONE guy ruin your FF season. You can't win a championship from one's guys points and, by the same virtue, likely can't lose it......that said, drafting Pierre Thomas in the 3rd and 4th rounds in my 2 leagues has drastically reduced my RB output on both of my squads.
Wasn't trying to complain about Nicks personally, he's obviously been HUGE for me this year...just complaining in general that every week I have someone who just doesn't show up at all. In seasons past a bad game for someone meant 3 or 4, but I've never had a stretch where I get less than one freaking point over and over each week. Obviously love Nicks overall though!Dude. As, I said in a previous post, I agree with this point...it's just an unusual coincidence with one player in 3 separate leagues and losing in close games(in all 3 leagues) with the only common denominator being Austin. Austin is a difficult player to make those "adjustments" with because he's 50/50 with huge games and bust games. I have definitely lowered my expectations with Kitna in there, but it is still difficult to know what to expect from him.My point in the thread really wasn't about bad picks or bad management, but I can certainly understand why it has gone in that direction.I've been absolutely killed with injuries this year, but that's to be expected...just part of the game.In redraft there's no reason for any single player to kill your season. DWill's been a waste in a couple of leagues. MSW gave me some goose eggs when I still had faith in him. Ocho's been awful. Had Romo in both my 2 QB leagues. Wes Welker has been a black hole of fantasy suckage after week 1. That's what drafting depth and wavier wire pickups are for. The key is quickly adjusting your pre-draft expectations and looking beyond the numbers to see what players are just having a bad start and which ones will be likely to continue to dissapoint.
Pierre Thomas, Randy Moss.
No, your point actually falls on its face.Cleo Taurus? What, are you 12 years old?Sorry. bad example. I retract Colsoton. My point still stands.Colston broke out in 2006, dude. Also, guys like Miles Austin, MSW and Colston had ONE breakout year last year. If you bet the farm on these guys in round 1 or 2 because of one good year, then shame on you. You had to figure defenses are going to focus on them this year.
No not really. Miles Austin and MSW were risky picks for the 1st and 2nd rounds. Lots of upside, but plenty of downside too. At the time, they were unproven. Certainly don't fault anyone for drafting them, but I wasn't going get them in rounds 1 or 2.Thanks for your input though. No, your point actually falls on its face.Cleo Taurus?
