Nate Burleson (1 Viewer)

I picked Burleson up a couple weeks back in my PPR league, but I haven't had a chance to see him play this year, and haven't really kept up with his situation. Is he worth a start? I'm assuming he's 100% now? Will Stafford look to him? What's his outlook for this week and going forward?

Well, the Lions are a team that should be scoring lots of points, because their defense isn't very good at keeping teams from scoring.

Burleson started to pick it up a little bit just before the bye, with Stafford coming back, I see Burleson as a low end WR3 option this week against the Redskins who aren't very good against the pass or a flex guy.

Going forward, the Lions don't have a great pass schedule down the stretch but I see them having to pass a lot. It's hard to say what kind of rapport Stafford had with Burleson because Stafford was injured in the 1st half of the 1st game of the year and Burleson is in his 1st year at Detroit.

If Stafford can stay healthy, I think their chemistry on the field will build and Stafford will see Burleson as a receiving option. I'm looking forward to watching that game this weekend.

Detroit will win that game, I have no doubt in my mind.

Keep in mind, Burleson is the 5th option behind Calvin, both Tight Ends, & Best. He'll probably have a couple nice games down the stretch, but there will surely be games where he only gets 1-2 targets.

I liked him as a WR3 when Calvin was hurt, but I see him as an end of the bench guy now.

I wouldn't say he is the 5th option. I'd say more like second or third depending on the formation and what they are doing to stop Calvin. Burleson is going to be wide open a lot if defenses continue to double Calvin and bring defenders in the box to stop Best......we'll just have to see if Staff can get the ball to him. Should be interesting to watch whether Stafford is as effective as Hill was. I'm not so sure, but it could be the years and years of seriously inept football lodged in my brain keeping me from believing.

Calvin was only injured for the 1 game and Calvin had over 100 and a TD.

I see him being a 3/4th WR in deep 12 team leagues. You can hope to get 5 catches and 55 yards yards with a small chance of a TD.
