NE - PHI (1 Viewer)

watching the game and could have sworn I heard that LaMont Jordon is "dinged up". He doesn't look like he's playing again tonight. Anyone know what the deal is?

None before this????
I know, i spent the last 5 minutes looking for the game thread :) Is Desean the #1 rookie WR this year? :shrug:
That's a possibility, but Eddie Royal is a contender.Thoughts:McNabb throwing well, all WRs and TE LJ Smith looks good. Baskett, Avant, DeJax look solid.DeJax looked fantastic on a short pass that he juked / cut back. Great blocking and a fantastic run.Westy looks fine.NE offense not doing much - haven't seen much of them. They look "off".Welker out with a rib injury. No word on severity. "Questionable" - means he's done.Baskett lost a TD on a fumble through the end zone.

Wow, kickoff returns are still allowed in the NFL?! SWEET!!! :no:

Nice run, straight ahead and fast.

..."and he runs over the.. the kickoff man". :excited:

I am really excited about Jackson. 4 catches, including a 20+ yarder down the side. 5 targets in all (McNabb misfire on the non-catch). And, a 50+ yard punt return that was nulified by penalty.

Against 1st unit D. Kid should be there week one in Curtis' role.

Eagles forum just exploded.

Only bad thing is this means Segrest still has a job

Whoever drafted him, you got the SOD

Reality check.

These games don't count.

Breathe.

OK - regroup here.

You cannot help but to be VERY encouraged by this. DeJax has killer speed and quickness. He's a playmaker.

Q. Demps has wheels. The ST units can block.

Everything looks sharp. Yes, it is preseason and NE is playing vanilla D, but this is still pro football. Philly playing like this all year would be a force to reckon with, regardless of the opposition. I'm far from saying 13-3, but they look strong on BOTH sides of the field. Trenton Cole and others were also all over Cassel. It would be a shutout if not for a PI on Randy Moss for 50 yds.

Enhanced :X

Can't you guys find a different short name than DJax? Darrel Jackson is still in the league. It will make threads really hard to read. It's bad enough 'Adrian Peterson' and 'average draft position' have the same abbreviation.

Context should tell you the difference, like ADP vs. All Day, right?

DEE-SEAN-JACK-SON <clap, clap, clap clap clap>

The guy's amazing in the open field; he can bounce in any direction at any moment, is super-fast and has great vision. I think he should be a better pure receiver than Dante Hall or Devin Hester, too, but clearly he's still small and that will work against him until he proves himself in the regular season.

I hope Dawkins' injury isn't too serious. He's no great shakes at this stage of his career, but he's still much, much better than Sean Considine.

I missed this. What happened?And if BDawkins is out, Mikell should step into that spot and FS is the replacement spot.Considine as a backup is a travesty, surpassed only by the annual Greg Lewis appearance.

DeJax = Jacoby Jones

Let me introduce you to our 2007 preseason darling:

11 catches/139 yards/2 TDs ========= 15 catches/149 yards/0 TDs

This is a valid point. But a major difference is that the Eagles' passing offense is much more prolific, and there is no Andre Johnson to hoard all the catches.

...and their top two wideouts are already injured.

Right, Philly is wide open for someone to break out. Could be LJ, looks like Desean could definitely make some moves as well.
