Need Some DL Info (1 Viewer)

All guys that I am targeting - all have very little info out there that would help me decide to take a chance or back away.

Ogunleye - been reading he is in a contract year and could even be cut. Does he have a spot?

Burgess - poisoned the well in Oakland, came to NE as a LB...but now only seeing time at DE. Is he a bum?

Smith - very unsexy pick but one that has been fairly consistent since his days in Cincy. Does he have anything left?

Geathers - can't seem to find any info on him. Is he retired?

I haven't heard anything about Ogunleye on the roster bubble. I'm not sure who they'd replace him with if they let him go. Burgess looks like a situational player at best in pass rushing situations. Justin Smith will play end only this year, but it's a pretty attractive role as 3-4 ends go. Smith's floor is pretty high -- 40 solos and 4-5 sacks. Geathers is a tough call. He's flashed very good all-around ability at times, but disappears for long stretches.

Ogunleye and Smith look like reasonable DL2 to me. Geathers might be rosterable in a deep league. Burgess likely has no value.

Thanks a lot Jene. It was unfortunate that the guys available to me at DL weren't well covered, and I waited too long to take guys that were more adequately covered. After my draft, 2 of the guys I drafted as DLs, were no longer eligible at DL (Suggs and Kampmann)...despite the fact that my league IS allowing Orapko at DL.Appreciate your commentary as it will help me decide on what garbage to pick up as the season progresses.
