I've gotten a huge break today with Anthony Reyes getting sent to Memphis. I now get to pick up a waiver wire pitcher. Some good relief options are available, including Antonio Alfonseca. But this could be a really big pickup for me, someone who could help me the rest of the year.
Here are some of the names I'm considering:
Aaron Heilman
Justin Germano
Adam Eaton (I've already had him, and cut him, but the Phillies are getting hot and he pitched well 3 straight prior to Saturday)
Alfonseca
Angel Guzman
Brad Hennessy
I may actually pick up 2 of these guys and cut Jason Hirsch.
I'm 8th out of 10 in wins and saves. But only 2 wins separates 3rd from 8th. Much more separation in saves.
Thoughts?
Question No. 2: Since it costs money to DL a player in our league, I'm thinking of whether it's worth it to waste the move on Josh Hamilton. On the one hand, I could use speed and Michael Bourn and Tony Gwynn Jr. are available. On the other, neither plays much. Bourn may get more PT in interleague, but who knows?
