New online simulation game is in beta testing right now, but looks to have some serious potential.

I was lucky enough to get a beta tester invite from this Techcrunch article and they might have some invite left.

You build your team by opening packs of cards (so far only 1907 and 2007 cards available) and then challenge other teams. Booster packs, upgrades, etc all seem to be the name of the game, much like Duels.

So far my Maranville Rabbits are 5-5 (we killed the 1907 White Sox) but I think with some time spent, anybody with any baseball sense could be really good at this game.

I strenuously object. Diamond Mind is just as realistic as SOM.....but the PC game has been taken over and looks like will be run into the ground in lieu of the Diamond Mind online game.

I agree that both SOM and DM are very good. I also agree that the standalone PC game is past its time. You now must be online to have any legs and grow.There are still some major kinks that are being worked out in Baseball Boss, and I worry they might be getting a bit too tricky (your card goes from down from Mint if you play it too often) and I will be very curious to see if they can separate those that want to play for free and those that pay for extra services.

Yeah DMB and OOTP are the best baseball sims around.
