New freezer - how long to get it down to temp? (1 Viewer)

As I would assume would be the case for a lot of the homeowner guys here, I have a freezer in my cellar.  Great for saving money by loading up on things like bacon when it goes on sale or hamburgers when you want to set in a big quantity of them.

Anyway, my freezer took a turn for the worse this weekend and I've ordered a new one, to be delivered tomorrow.

My question - how long is it likely to take from when it's "in" and plugged in for it to be at the proper temperature so that I can load it up again?

fill up like a 2 liter or milk jug or something full of water and put it in there when its frozen its good.
