Gotta go with Turley in that case... until he gets hurt that is, which should be 2-3 games in

Won't Svitek have a shot at the job too?
YESI see Turley starting @ RT, and then Svitek taking over for Roaf in '07. WS was an All-Pro in NFLEL and many people have been mentioning him as another Brian Waters-esque move by KC.

Sounds about right. There's no one better at scouting, drafting, developing o-line then the Chiefs.

Have there been any successful OL that have made the transition from NFLE? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

Chase,The guy I mentioned, Brian Waters,

http://www.kcchiefs.com/player/brian_waters/

From his bio.......

"...Also became the first undrafted guard to make the Pro Bowl since Newton did it following the ‘98 season … Has firmly entrenched himself as the club’s starting left guard, owning a string of 55 consecutive starts, the fifth-longest active streak of any player on the team … Has come a long way since being cut by Dallas as a rookie free agent in ‘99 … Came to Kansas City for a free agent workout in 2000 when the Chiefs convinced him to make the move to offensive line after working as a tight end in camp for the Cowboys the previous year … Was originally envisioned to be Tim Grunhard’s replacement at center before the club inked Casey Wiegmann in 2001 … Actually started the 2001 opener in place of an injured Wiegmann before moving into his current role at guard midway through that campaign … Worked exclusively on special teams during his debut with the club in 2000, but quickly assumed a larger role in his second season with the club … Worked as both a collegiate tight end and a defensive lineman, giving him a vast background to call upon … In fact, never played offensive line until entering the pro ranks with the Chiefs in 2000 …

He was picked up as a street FA (3/6/00) ... Released by Dallas (9/5/99) ... Originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Dallas (4/23/99).

So you see, there is some good history with KC and NFL EL. Other guys such as Dante Hall made their mark over there before becoming All-Pro's for KC. Hall was 3rd string RB coming out of TX A&M.

EDIT: Lick to Blogger thread on Svitek
