NEW NFL HALL OF FAMERS (1 Viewer)

Obviously I am biased, but Monk is in no way shape or form a better rec then Irvin. Irvin dismantled D. Green twice a year. Irvin was a bigger, more phisical threat. ####, I'd take Gary Clark over art Monk any day of the week. Irvin was not only a great WR, but he was the leader on offense, even moreso then Aikman. Granted he was a mess off the gridiron, but he was one of the hardest working and best team players of all time.Who did Irvin share the ball with? Emmitt Smith. Irvin put up pretty solid numbers on a run first team. In fact, If I remember right, nobody caught more balls for more yards and touchdown in the 1990's then Michael Irvin except for Jerry Rice. Emmitt used to account for more of his teams offense then any other player in the league in those days. It was something like 70%+ percent. Now I think Art Monk should have already been in the hall, but I think it'll be a long time before he gets his. The Vet. commity will have to vote him in.
He played his best against the biggest names, cornerbacks Aeneas Williams, Deion Sanders, Darrell Green and Rod Woodson and in the biggest games. He had 87 catches for 1,315 yards and eight touchdowns in the postseason

I don't know why people struggle to see why he is not in the HOF. he was a good receiver, but not great. He only had five seasons over a 1000yds in 16 years. And the most TDs he ever caught in one season was 8. Do you guys really think that is HOF material? In comparison, M. Irvin played 12 years and had seven 1000yd seasons. And BTW, he only made ProBowl 3 times.....Irvin made it 5 times.
stats can be very misleading. Monk was one of the best and most feared receivers of his time. 1000 yard receivers weren't as prevalent then as they are today.
I agree that 1000yd receivers were not as prevalent then as they are now. But 1000yds was still the benchmark. He was a possesion receiver for the most part. I wouldn't really say he was feared.
I don't recall Irvin being feared. I recall Emmitt, the o-line and Aikman being feared, but not Irvin.
Again, not a Irvin fan, but he was feared alot more than Monk was.
and Anfre Reed was feared and game planned against more than both
