Hey guys, I'm new to the football guys scene, but when I saw the baseball message board I had to post. I recently found a website you all might enjoy: baseballguys.com! They've been dishing out all kinds of great free fantasy baseball info and have really helped me climb up the standings.

Joe.. you should sue. I'm pretty sure you have precident under sportsguys company name plus footballguys success and the recent addition of a baseball forum.

Normally I'd be against big guy crushing little guy suits like this but I'm also against idiots thinking they can advertise their site for free on competotior's forums :goodposting:

ETA: and shame on Joe and David for not at least locking up this URL if they've been considering a baseball site for as long as they say they have been.

I think if they had been serious about a baseballguys.com they'd have reserved the URL long ago.

looks like this site is writing articles and analysis...not really apples to apples

Joe has expressed interest in doing a FBG type of thing for BB.. depending on the traffic/intereste level on this forum.

Probably not happening. I don't think the traffic in here has been enough to make them consider a full time push.
Agree, most users go here because its convenient to come here, if it was on another site it wouldnt even get the traffic this forum gets.Too many forums these days, and remember the baseball forum started, rotodugout, that place is as dead as any forum out there

I think that's exactly a reason why it might work. There is already a consistent audience. No one said that the forums for a potential baseball site would have to be separate. There is a severe lack of quality baseball content on the web. One of the problems is that fantasy baseball is about 20x more complicated than football. In football, over 90% of league have "get good running backs" as a pivotal strategy. In baseball, strategy runs the whole gamut. In some leagues, starting pitching is an afterthought. In some leagues, closers are an afterthought. In some leagues, Adam Dunn is a borderline starter... in others, he's a veritable stud. Hell, even two leagues with identical rules can play out entirely differently depending on individual owner strategies. One of the best things about footballguys.com is its inherent absence of arrogance. Even in something as simple as fantasy football, footballguys adopts a modest "here's what we know, make your own decisions" philosophy. I think that is a product of having such a diverse group of people creating content. Most baseball sites miss the mark in that they assume they know what's best for most leagues. While you can skate by with that kind of content for football, in baseball it's not going to work. This is why the footballguys format can work for baseball. This is why it's the only format out there that's really suited to address baseball adequately. "Here's what we know, make your own decisions."
