New TimeWaster (1 Viewer)

Yes, he quit awhile ago. I finished off a few of his tournament obligations, but I think I cleared them all.

It doesn't hurt to invite him to more, as I won't accept any, but it's a waste of effort in any case.

Bio is my brother, btw.

Hm. Lacking any knowledge of what any of you guys do, I have to admit that you, Dragons, Guderian and Gaspumper were my top four guesses as to who would have the programming savvy to pull this off as soon as I saw Fizzie's announcement. Well, that's two down. I can code in PHP as a hobby but I don't think I'm up to this sort of challenge, even having emerged from my recent Holiday Bootfest 2012, for which, incidentally, I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize. (In two words: we moved.)
Guderian doesn't even know what Fizzer's talking about...
Dragons either. ;)

No programming for me. I wouldn't even know where to begin or who to copy.

Over a year since the last bump.

We're a shell of our former FBG dominance, but there are FBG games still going if anyone wants to come back or start up fresh.

I'd like to apologize to everyone in the FBG tournament that I've beaten. Which is everybody I've played, except Tecumseh. There's another person with only one loss, Humuna. His loss was to me. There was another one with one loss, but then he lost to me, too. So I'd like to give Tecumseh some much deserved credit for doing the unthinkable. If anyone is looking for a challenge, I will beat you three consecutive games on a map and setup of my choosing. We'll use the same map and setup each time, and you can take time between them to practice. The first game I won't even move on the first turn, and I'll play left handed. First come, first served.
I still love this shtick.

He even got "first come, first served" right.

it's not shtick if he is that good.

Holy crap, I feel like I just beat bostonfred (not cause this guy was that good, as it turns out, but the arrogance).

Turn 18, he asked me if I was ready to surrender. A few more bad turns, and I would have considered it. But, I'm a spiteful ###.

ETA - I don't know if chat is available on histories, but it's worth reading.
This was what I was looking for... was fun re-watching from his perspective.

If anyone hasn't seen, history has been revamped. You can now watch a game from a specific persons perspective (originally, you watched in all seeing mode).

I haven't played but I may join in his winter.

been playing:

panzer general

pogo risk
 I always thought you were "zed" who plays with us.
oc zed maybe?
Oh, yeah. That's gotta be him. Well, join up. We'd love to have more players. Very fun game.
thanks, but I don't have a job so I don't have any time to just waste.
sorry to hear - hope things improve for you

And we'll train you right (i.e., we won't take mercy on you). If you do join (please do), join this tournament and you'll find most of the historic FBG players. NOt all still play, but if you comment, we can certainly find you and invite you to tournaments. Feel free to invite me to any open or team game as you're learning.

ETA: erm, I forgot how this works. If you do join, pm me the email address you used to join. I'll then invite you to this tournament.

It was awesome shtick and he was that good.

Check out turn 8 of this game (one of my favorite ladder games) - pure BF brilliance: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=1218706

Also check out turn 15. In my lull then re-entry to the game, I feel I've lost that type of anticipation that players like BF made you learn.

Hey, so just looking around the warlight site and it sounds like Fizzer is planning on coming out with a bunch of new things like commanders, special units and some other stuff. That is good cause the game was slowing down a little, will be fun to add some new things to it

It was shtick. I swept his ### on his turf.

Still winless. I'm not good at this.
You jumped into a tournament with a bunch of players that have more experience than you, don't let it get you down.
FYI - Tick got better.

(looking for an old post and decided to Hipple the thread)
Tick got trained by Gaspumper and Guderian in a Far East big map tournament early on, learned VERY fast from decent (Guderian) to great (Gaspumper) teachers.

Anyway, we're looking for new recruits.  Anyone want to join up as part of the FBG clan?   How much you play is entirely up to you.  But you'll learn fast.  Anyone with interest, post here or PM me.
