Looking for a 4th/5th OFer and/or a MI

If you're thinking you have depth and either of those positions and are looking for any of the following give me a shout:

Uber Stud Elite Pitching Proscpects like Jon Gray ($1) or Kevin Gausman ($1) or maybe even Archie Bradley ($2)

2nd Half Cy Young Award Winner* Ubaldo Jimenez ($1)

Newly Returned to Form All-Star Ian Kennedy ($1)

Adrian Gonzalez ($14) in maybe a 2 for 1 type deal.

*not an actual award

I will register my team tonight.

Just rid my house of the FWB after three days and now I can get to Serious Business .

Just want to clear up a few loose ends here.....

-Can I assume we are disregarding the prizes by week? Just year end prize distribution - and can we get a break down?

-Waiver wires - are we running them this weekend, and if so, are we doing this on CBS?? Not to be a PITA here, but, I don't see how to do it there, I will not be around this weekend, so it would be pretty ideal if we were able to set this up by tomorrow. If not, I'm kind of ####ed here, because switching over to CBS, my second baseman conveniently lost his 2b eligibility so I'll be playing shorthanded for awhile which kind of sucks twofold.

Hi Guru,

I'm fine with no weekly prizes for year 1, seems like it's a good idea to just settle on year end for now. Barring objections to that regard I'd propose we go with $700, $400, $200, $100. Thoughts? I was thinking 4 places makes sense for 14 teams, but maybe getting your money back is a waste, I don't know.

I think we can't run the FAAB until everyone joins the league. I'd like to run them on Sunday and Thursday before the season, but if everyone doesn't get in soon, we'll have to just go with Thursday. I can check on who we're missing later and start hounding. I apologize for the change, we should have done CBS in the first place, but I wanted to see if Yahoo could handle us for free and I couldn't find any info ahead of time.

For the position eligibility -- I dropped CBS from 20 games last year to 10 games (5 this year) to gain eligibilty hoping to alleviate some of the odd position choices by yahoo. Some googling tells me that they just assign positions on gut and moxy. I suppose I could drop it to 5 games last season to really loosen it up for this year and then we could go to something more standard for next season. Thoughts everyone? Other than yahoo sucks it. I lost my David Ortiz 1B eligibilty, but I'm willing to suck it up, but I know what it means to not have a MI as I don't have one right now due to drunk auctioning.

Thanks Tre.

The original rules stated 10 games last year, 5 this year - let's stick with that. I can certainly take some of the responsibility for not drafting a major league 2nd baseman - would rather stay consistent.

And if it's all the same to everyone else, I suggest we take our time and just run the first waiver on Thursday so we can get everything set properly in CBS and run a smooth league, rather than rushing. I understand the challenge of switching over. Plus by next Thursday, we should have a better feel for who will be starting the year in the majors and who may get hurt....medlan :hi:

***ANNOUNCE***

FAAB will begin next week with an overnight run (2am eastern) on Thursday night/early Friday morning on 3/21. It will then run overnight Sunday night and Thursday night from there on. Remember you have just $100 for the season, so spend wisely.

Love,

TRE

I think we should allow it

I apparently missed an opportunity to buy CBS for $50 yesterday. :killself:

Anyone have an idea how we can pay less than $179 here? Wait it out for another offer?

Reminder that the first FAAB run is this Thursday night.

I'll keep playing chicken with CBS on the league fee until the last possible moment.

Will there be another waiver run on Sunday night too?

Oh, just for clarification, suppose a player that was auctioned off, say Kris Medlan ($10) is dropped, and later on is picked up in FAAB for $1, his keeper salary is his auction price of $10 or his pickup price of $1?

One other thing, the $320 in season salary cap, that is just for auction prices, or does that include FAAB bids?

####. I should have just bought it when you didn't reply.

Only other thought would be if I sent you a referral. It would be 50% off but you'd have to set up a completely new league and have everyone join by the time waivers run....or let the waivers run and Aussie games play and retroactively do all that crap next week.

Yes, every Thurs/Sun from here on out.

Once a player is dropped their contract is done. So his new keeper price would be $1, or whatever he's added for through FAAB.

The $320 in season is for your roster, however you acquire them: trade/faab/original auction. It also includes your 3 DL guys that you could potentially have.

They have to give me one more chance, right? I could try begging via email too.

CBS is really pretty much an inflexible piece of ####. I thought you knew it didn't work that way as much as I complained about having to set those salaries every week in the old league. In any case, it's still the best option, though I'm not so sure it's worth $15 a head.. next year we should go with a free site and keep the books in a google doc IMO.

FYI - I called CBS's HOTLINE and talked to this chick that told me to submit an online help request. Basically, the 50% off referral link takes you to set up a brand new league. Since our league is new, but already setup I'm stuck without tech-dork intervention.

So, I've submitted a request for them to apply the discount and I'm awaiting confirmation of said discount. Once that occurs, I'll share paypal info with the group. I expect we'll get the $89.99 leeg and each team will owe $106.50.

STAY TUNED!

Man, #### these guys in their ####### asses.

So they're telling me that I have to set up an entire new league in order to get the referral discount. I told them thanks for the colossal waste of time. As I see it we have a few options:

1. Pay the full rate and stay in the current league. This means $112 a head and that CBS wins. We can always run far far away next season.

2. I set up a new league in CBS and use the referral code to get the discount. More work, CBS wins again, but at least doesn't get more money. I could do this tonight.

3. I set up a league on Fantrax, which is the same price as the 50% off rate at CBS. This means the same amount of work as #2, plus a 3rd site for you guys, but CBS gets nothing. Also, Fantrax does automatically assign contracts based on FAAB amount, so I'm saved the busy work twice a week of assigning contracts. Cosjobs' head may explode though. This site is also blocked for me at work, but they have a phone app that's alright.

Please advise...my rage level is at 11.
