I believe that Denver would have to add a 4th rounder in to swap. Perhaps they look at their salary cap situation and depth chart and have determined the higher pick is not worth the cost.Either that and it's the other way around, wherein Washington has to add a pick to the deal to NOT swap and they have already chosen to do so.
No this is wrong. There was no option. If Washington's pick was top 10, the swap was out of the question. Also if there was a difference of I think 15 picks between the two spots, the swap was out. The trade was based on the draft pick points chart that all teams use. The choices were to swap first rounders or Denver get's a 3rd this year, and a 4th next year.
