NFL players are starting to get injured (1 Viewer)

NFL players are starting to get injured, each game and even during practice. There will probably be a lot more injuries to come this season. Injuries obviously have an impact on our fantasy teams, often in favor of certain players that we own such as backup RBs or #2 WRs.

I encourage us to show class in the way that we express the positive impact of these injuries on our FF teams. For example, if Benson is injured, perhaps the Thomas Jones owners could phrase the benefits to their FF teams in a way that shows class, not a baseless disregard for the health of another human being.

I can envision similar scenarios with the likes of Dillon, Westbrook, Foster, Grossman, and other starters who have viable backups. Please let's try not to to cheer too much on the messageboard at the injuries of NFL players because we are motivated by the benefit to our FF team.

We are the best FF messageboard on the internet. Let's act like it!

DOUBTFUL: Bad behavior, Gleeful joy; QUESTIONABLE: Bad sportsmanship, Hoping for bad things to happen to good people; PROBABLE: Moderate amounts of class, Willful disobedience

I make 24k a year..not millions like them..let them earn it or work in a supermarket like Kurt Warner did. :lmao: They are our entertainment..thats why they are paid Millions..if hurt #### happens its the NFL.. guts glory and best team wins! ;)

In other words you think that people need to pretend that they aren't happy when their stud backup suddenly becomes a starter. Gotcha.

I wont' be posting messages of glee if/when Tiki or Dunn goes down. But I will definitely be happy about having Jacobs and Norwood on my roster and I'll gladly start one or both the following week.

All of those who like being preached to by some hack on FF message board , please give a show of hands. And remember, even if you don't post messages of glee at the injury that benefits you, you are still guilty of thought crime.

I've spent the last few minutes checking them out. And to answer my own question in post #4...I think they are. Those are D's!

Unless we're dealing with Barry Bonds, I think that pulling for a player to sustain a career ending, possibly life-threatening injury is a disgusting gesture.

Honestly, if a guy breaks his neck and is paralyzed I wouldnt want to hear a word but praise for his heart and all he brought to football.

On the other hand, a millionaire athlete that happens to run faster than we do being out for 8 weeks with a boo-boo on his knee is hardly something that stirs me to sympathy.

I'l never understand this namby-pamby "meeeeehhhhh, don't wish bad stuff on a player, guy" crap. No one is wishing him death or ill will to his family, so other than that, big hairy deal. Trust me, he reads that your entire family died in a fiery car crash, he wouldnt bat an eye. Well, not like he'd be reading something, but you know what I mean.

Meh, I honestly don't care how other people react to injuries.

Some people root for them. It shows their character...that's fine.

I agree here. I dont like it much, but hate someone whining about it like we're a bunch of 2nd graders whispering "shhhhhh" and holding two fingers in the air as we walk through the halls even more

A tweaked hammy would be fine. Who said anything about career ending or life threatening. For instance Steve Smith.

My feeling is that the injuries have already happened..we did not cause them. This is a FF site..not a NFL site.

I never want to see a NFL player get hurt, but it happens every week. And "after the fact" if it helps my team. :pickle: :pickle:

If it is my player hurt... :hot: :hot:

Easy big fella.

You can cheer for McAlister to rupture a spleen so Bush becomes your full time back or pray Tatum Bell gets hit by a bus on the way to practice (just a few broken bones, he's gonna be alright) because you own Mike Bell and still have class.

These guys are living the dream dude. Professional football players get paid truckloads of cash. And its a violent game, and they love it. Or were you not watching that game Monday night? So some harmless trashtalk and bravado on this most excellent message board about injuries should be taken for what it is and not a sincere desire for Deuce to pop an artery.

My personal preference is that if someone goes down and you happen to have their back-up, show a little bit of restraint and keep that little bit of excitement to yourself. Seriously. It's kind of like ripping a giant fart without getting noticed - it's one of those precious little joys that is for you to enjoy alone, but if you brag about it on a message board, it just makes you a giant tool.

awwwwww be niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice to the players

don't be happy if they tear an ACLLLLLLLLLL

seriously who the #### cares.

You're missing the bigger picture.

If somebody gets hurt and it benefits your fantasy team, you shouldn't post here about it. Not because of class or ethics, but because nobody cares about your fantasy team.

Seriously, I pray every night that Peyton Manning stays healthy. I don't own him, I just don't want to have to read 300 posts a day from people who think I really want to know about Jim Sorgi's status in their league. If somebody gets hurt and it helps you personally, think whatever you want. But don't imagine anyone else cares.

Whatever you do, PLEASE don't let Corey Dillon rupture anything while attempting to lift the bus off Brunell's head. ANYTHING but that!

Indeed, this is sheer brilliance. It is now this message board's policy that any time you post anything that involves a particular active player, you must also post the following disclaimer:

This post is not intended to express any particular interest in any player actually named, especially not because that player's active (or inactive, as the case may be) status in any way affects my fantasy squad or squads. The post is meant to explore purely hypothetical scenarios involving random NFL players solely due to my general passion for the NFL game, and not because of my interest in any particular NFL player(s). Any semblance on my part of any fantasy football interest towards a given player or players as expressed in this post is purely coincidental and will be dealt with harshly, through self abuse, if its existence is pointed out. Love and kisses.

:goodposting: (both of you)

This thread has gotten a whole lot better :lmao:

I'm having knee surgery in a few weeks...please don't bring it up on the boards - it might hurt my feelings. Oh and I might miss a few days at the office as a result. I know...that makes me a big ##### - they pay me the big bucks to play through such minor injuries. :hophead:
