I think the NFL is at a lowpoint for quality depth in the secondary and at LB.Agree? Disagree?
I agree with CB but I think a lot of pretty big name S's have been pushed out of the league while they still seemed viable. I was really surprised Schulters got no interest a couple of years ago and just sort of faded out of the league. He's only back now because MIA can't keep anybody healthy. This year I'm still shocked Darius can't make a roster. I'm not saying these are great players, or even starters, but they couldn't make a ROSTER as the #3/#4 S and special teamer? I also don't think LB is that thin right now.Seems like there's a lot of good starting S/LB's around the league in their 1st/2nd year in the league. CB, not so much. Ty Law may play forever.
The S's pushing them out though, are you impressed with them? Example re-LBs, Giants, Pierce I love but don't much care for Kawika and Kiwi(at LB, love him at DE)Bengals? I see some names out there but even wonderful Zach Thomas isn't the same guy this year. Ever seen an Urlacher D that bad?I looked back at the last couple drafts and it seems like 1st or 2nd round picks are winding up just OK in the NFL, if they play much at all (like Carpenter on Dallas). In hindsight...in hindsight, it's as if there's quite a few that weren't so worthy of their draft status, good but not that high of a pick. Giants and Jets and Chargers grabbed CBs but they don't wow me too much and they sure didn't bounce out of the lineup anyone that was too impressive.
