NFL RedZone channel (1 Viewer)

Really enjoying it even though Chris Johnson is single handedly pushing me to 0-2. Ran in Philly D and Shockey last week. Where's my t-shirt?

ive never seen the channel. But i feel like i would rather watch a whole game then bits and pieces of a bunch of games.

I did not watch a single minute so far this week on the regular networks. then again, I live in St. Louis so not much to watch here...

If you don't have Direct and your home team is playing a late game, it is great!!Comcast had the KC/OAK game on one channel and the Phil/NO game on the other. I stuck it on Redzone all morning....

This is going to kill network football. Two hours in I realized I needed a bathroom break and beer. Hard to take your eyes off.

Unless you are intent on exclusively watching your favorite team's game, there is nothing like it for the NFL fan- short of having eight TVs in your viewing room with all the games being broadcast simultaneously.

Great description! I'm loving it!

So it is a seperate channel than the regular NFL network? In VA I use COX Cable which has Gameday Scoreboard on, meh.

The 4:00pm coverage seems to be lacking though. They have shown more highlights from the earlier games than live game coverage so far.

Love it being free...only thing Comcast is getting correct right now...or at least its included in my sports package.

Great thing...my wife hated it though.

Have to agree. This RZ channel is the BOMB!! I don't understand whats not to like unless you are bent on watching your team play. Otherwise, the coverage is top notch.

I switched to it during the Eagles commercials and then once that game became a blow out early 2nd half I switched to it for good. I was glued. Excellent stuff.

You'd rather watch 7 minutes of football and 173 minutes of filler? I understand if you have an emotional attachment or it's a big game, but with that aside, I would go with RZ.

I want to add this channel, but I have been told it is not in HD. No way I can go back to SD football. Anyone know when it might go HD?

I have been watching it in HD on Comcast the first two weeks.
Love the channel , but did not see an HD channel on Comcast in my area (Jersey/Philly market) which was a big draw back. With only one game on (Eagles / Saints blowout) @ 1pm than only one game on @4pm viewing the Red Zone channel was a must...Love it.

Agreed all around. Currently my Comcast is only sending down the SD version, which sucks on the eyes...but the content makes it worth it. The non-stop action kills me though. Pause to go bio/drink....nearly impossible to catch up. They switch so quickly from game to game, snap to snap...unbelievable! Wow, just wow. Now need to get Comcast to send me down the HD feed, so I can have 8 hours of uninterupted 73" 1080i of pure joy every Sunday all Fall!!!

For anyone who is experiencing it for the first time, it should get better.

The Direct TV version is better, smoother, and more action. They whip around even faster, not bothering to show extra points, and Siciliano, the host, is actually pretty funny. Hanson needs to learn to economize the talk. He didn't prattle on, but just used too many words to tell us something we already know. Just say, "Jets are on the move!" and step aside. I don't need to hear what announcers I am going to be listening to.

What I really didn't like was, on the late games anyway, there were games going on, and they weren't showing anything live, because no one was in the red zone. So they were showing early game highlights, while there was live action. Complete mistake.

Awesome Channel!!!!!!!!I am hooked, it's crack cocaine for the FFL and NFL fan.
It is indeed. I don't expect to see this thing at $5/month next year....
Think they will raise it in this economy? Maybe, but I think it's a bad move if they do.
Let me ask you this? Would you pay $25/month for this? $6/week? I sure as hell would. With these kinds of reviews they are going to raise the price. And while the economy is bad, the only thing close to it is the Ticket and that is a ton more expensive and much harder to catch all the red zone action as it is very hard to keep a close eye on all the games to know who is about to score..

I don't think they use this to raise the price rather use it as leverage to get Time Warner and other providers to add the mothership.

If Comcast gets the shortcut games then I'll cut ties with DirecTV. But the shortcuts are worth the price of the ticket for me.

This is my first season with the Sunday Ticket and I don't have the RZ channel. I wish I did.

With ST, the best I can really do at 1:00 is pay good attention to 3 games. That's after I set-up a 2nd TV beside the main TV, split the DVR cable, and set-up a blockade so that the remote doesn't change the channel for the 2nd TV when I'm trying to switch the 1st. I keep the 2nd TV on one game the whole time b/c changing that channel is a pain in the butt. I flip the 1st TV back and forth b/w 2 games to start and mix in tidbits of other games when commericals hit all at once (which is all too common). I re-evaluate the rotation at halftime and hope I guess right.

That's all a real pain the butt. If I had known that RZ Channel would be available on cable, I'm not sure I would have switched to DTV.

I imagine DTV must be pissed about this. Everybody I know that has RZ is in love with it and would never pay $300 for ST if they didn't have too (as DTV makes you do to get RZ). I assume DTV paid "monopoly" prices to the NFL and from here on out, there's no way they'll get "monopoly" returns on their investment.

This all great for the consumer, but I can't help but feel the NFL screwed DTV (and DTV's lawyers must be idiots for allowing this to happen).

I have it in HD on Verizon Fios. As other supporters have noted, it really is addictive and simulates exactly how I would watch a game in a sports bar, without the risk of missing a score.

Yeah, I find this REALLY annoying during the late games. They do it a lot. I get so sick of watching the same hilights over and over. I have a feeling it might be some limit they get for each "look in." This is definitely not the same feed or channel that sunday ticket subscribers get. The morning games are worth the price though. That climax at the end of the games when they go between all the close games is fantastic.

I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the entire season. Probably just me though. I have Supercast on my laptop as well, so I dont know if I would feel differently if that weren't the case.

man I love this channel....

However I am starting to miss the Coors Light/Old Coaches commercials

Code:
not really

Amen. It's like somebody took the prayers of all the guys in sports bars and fantasy football leagues from around the country and built a TV channel just for us.

watched it today for the 1st time. awesome. now i don't have to keep watching shady poor quality streaming games or audio on my laptop.
