the Comcast deal is pretty decentorder NFLNetwork in the Sports Package (I think I pay $5.99/mo) and RedZone is freeI switched it on the freeview on Comcast at 1PM and didn't move it until it went off the air. I had Sunday Ticket for 8 years until this year. I don't know what package I have to get on Comcast or how much it is, but I think it's going to be well worth whatever I'm going to pay.
I already get the NFL Network with my package but not the RZ. Channel 734 in Baltimore---I watch the Raven game 1 o'clock and switch during the commercials, then move over to RZ for the 4 o'clock games
you get to see all the earlier TD's, and large chunks of each 4PM game, as if you had The Ticket
I was close to switching to DTV and Sunday Ticket---I waited to see what RZ was like, and I'll keep the $300/yr that The Ticket cost
waayyyy happy w/RedZone!
There are long periods without host involvement, plenty of time. I do have one small gripe, after most of the games return from halftime the channel still shows highlights for a few minutes. I would rather see continuous action, not highlights. I guess they do this to bring people up to speed. Amazing channel regardless, but I could do without highlights until after the 4pm games EST. Oh, and forget switching channels to RZ during commercials, get two TVs side by side. One with the Jets, one with the RZ.Kind of a dumb question but when do the hosts get a chance to run to the restroom. They are on air for about 8 hours straight, right? Are they pissing in a bottle under the desk?
The only thing I hate about this channel is I don't know when to take a piss.Kind of a dumb question but when do the hosts get a chance to run to the restroom. They are on air for about 8 hours straight, right? Are they pissing in a bottle under the desk?
And I would gladly pay it....As much as I would hate for it to happen, I can't see the RedZone channel not going up in price next season. They keep raising the Sunday Ticket price every year and people are willing to pay, so what about RedZone? What if they make it $5 a week pay-per-view? $10?
Sprint has an NFL Mobile app.I used it to listen to audio when I was out and about.Worked pretty well.I did not do much else with it but believe you could access stats and stuff pretty easily as well.NFL needs to do a better job on going mobile - whether it be video feeds, audio feeds or game tracker.I have an iTouch and I paid $10 for mlb.com app for the iTouch. It was by far my favorite app during the baseball season. I had audio (home and away) for every game while I followed the internet style 'gamecast'. I could also buy the video feed for $1.99 per game ala cart. They also had free live video feeds for select games each day - not sure how long that would continue. It was an awesome app - links to everything I needed to know when I needed to know it - news/rosters/stats/etc. And last year the play-offs were free with multiple camera angles to select from for each play-off game. This was offerred in this way because tv rights (contract verbage) indicated the could nto stream the television broadcast.I really wish the NFL would build an app just like it.
No way it goes up that much. There aren't that many fantasy footballers out there that don't already have Direct TV, or go to the sports bar. And those are the only people that'd pay that price. As much as I would hate for it to happen, I can't see the RedZone channel not going up in price next season. I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that it's all the action of football without the commercials or timeouts. Even the casual fan would appreciate that. Plus I would be shocked if the introduction of RedZone didn't cut into the Sunday Ticket numbers.massraider said:No way it goes up that much. I'd drop the Sunday ticket and just watch redzone if Direct TV does that. Comcast includes it in their digital "sports package" of the NFL-NHL-NBA-MLB stations.I'd drop the Sunday ticket and just watch redzone if Direct TV does that. Verizon signed a deal with the NFL that took away the mobile from sprint to Verizon.
They are planning a mobile NFL redzone channel![]()

They should all do that. The one thing I hate about going to games is that they act like nobody cares about any other game other than the scores.I went to a Cowboy game at the new stadium when I was visiting Dallas and they had the Redzone playing on huge screens all around the outside bar area. It was pretty awesome.
So far very happy with the droidsho nuff said:belljr said:Verizon signed a deal with the NFL that took away the mobile from sprint to Verizon.
