NFL Salary Cap for 2008? (1 Viewer)

I run a dynasty league and we use the NFL salary cap as our cap and I was wanting any info that I can find.

I have heard that is going to be $121 million.

Thanks for any info or links.

The current numbers don't mean anything. The contracts have unattainable bonuses built in them to add future cap room. Each team will have plenty to spend. There's always restructuring as well to make room. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If Washington wants someone bad enough they'll find the money for them.

Hopefully, their are a couple guys out there who are worth the money and will help Green Bay. If they aren't worth the cash, Thompson won't go after them. The young O-line could use a solid veteran to help while the 2nd and 3rd year players finish their developments.

Found a good web page on the Redskins salary cap situation.

Looks like the Skins get under the cap pretty easily:

- Cut Mark Brunell ($5 million)

- Cut Brandon Lloyd ($2.4 million)

- Convert Chris Cooley roster bonus into a signing bonus, as planned ($9.2 million)

- Convert other roster bonuses (Betts, Carter, Randel El) into signing bonuses, as planned (~$5 million)

That's $21 to $22 million off the cap without breaking a sweat. I'm sure there will be other cuts and restructuring, too.
