Tony Dorsett in the Broncos uniform was a tough one. The guy was the Cowboys for a long period of time in my mind and he was broken down by the time he went to Denver...

Most of these are good candidates, but it has to be Unitas. Talk about 1 guy synonymous (sp?) with a team...to wear anything other than a Colts' uniform should be nauseating for any fan of the NFL, Unitas/Colt fan or not (unless you flat-out hated them I guess). It's like Lombardi coaching the Skins or imagining Marino as a Viking or some such.

I think it's got to be Rice:

He's wearing the uniform number of another HoF player at the same position for a different team AFTER the guy left and had his number retired, when no one else ever wore that number for the team.

Some of these, like Favre, aren't a big deal - it's where they started.

I voted Unitas - going from the Colts to the Chargers is just way too weird. The guy is synonymous with the Colts. Compared to today's NFL, where player movement is more prevalent, Unitas' move seems to most wrong.

I always felt that Namath with the Rams signified "stayed too long" so that was my vote. Though the Rice take was a good one.

Couldn't vote for any of the "befores" like Favre. That's almost the equivalent of a college jersey - it's more part of their legacy than the hanging on too long part.

Czonka with the Giants probably would be good for this pole, especially given his starring role in the notorious Herman Edwards touchdown (which I was actually at, though being like 7 or so everybody stood up at that moment and I didn't see a damn thing)

I feel ya, and I thought about not including Favre and Young because their strange uniform period came before they became true studs. But this wasn't a "Which pathetic, washed-up has-been should never have worn this other uniform?" poll. Rather, it was merely a "Which player looks the 'most wrong' in another uniform?" poll. Subtle difference, but still.

Favre, and the unfortunate part is that next year he may not be wearing the Green and Gold, for one reason or another.

Franco. The one's who wore a jersey of another team before they became stars isn't all that "strange".

Agreed. Favre in a Falcons uni never looked wrong to me since that is where it all began, and it was before he became a star.

Thurman Thomas in the uniform he ran all over.
I had a helluva hard time finding a larger pic of Thurman in a Fins jersey. The only one I found had writingscribbled all over it. If someone finds a better pic I'll edit it into the original post.
Getty Images has lots of nice pictureshttp://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/75694277.j...D335A2FD6D9B79D

Johnny U.

I clicked on all the links and Unitas in a Chargers uniform looked the most blasphemous. He was an old school player and to see him playing in a techno color style uniform just doesn't cut it.

Johnny U. That is just wrong.Dorsett was closest behind him.Didn't even consider the early career guys (Favre, Young, etc.)
 It's hard to look strange when you haven't established yourself yet.I remember the first time I saw Naimath and Unitas in their SoCal uni's and thinking WTF?

Franco...this coming from a  fan who grew up watching him play in the 70s. I couldn't even bring it up when I met him at a Penguins game a few years ago.

I will say Unitas in a Chargers uni is a close second.
