NFL to stream games onlinePosted Aug 27th 2007 4:02PM Filed under: Sports, WebHey football fans, how about games streamed directly to your computer?Yeah, well, don't get too excited yet, cause it'll cost you. The streaming is part of DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket Package, so unless you already have that, you're out of luck. And, if you do have the $269 Sunday Ticket package, upgrading to the SuperFan package that includes the online streaming will cost an additional $99. Also, it only works with Windows XP and Vista and Internet Explorer.

This was available to foreigners thru yahoo's servers and did rrrrrrrrreal well so I imagine they offerred it up again.

In September, NFLNetwork and/or just their main recap shows will be available thru Fox's soon to be huge TV site mynetworkTV.com. I don't know if there's a press release for this yet but.....bank on it

It was available to foreigners and any americans who know how to use a proxy server to make it look like they're coming from a foreign IP address when they submitted the registration... even if their credit card was on a US account. However, I don't see anyone paying $100 to stream games when they already have the Ticket.Meanwhile, SOPCast is still free.

Why the flip would anyone want to watch the games on their PC - and pay a ton extra to do so :goodposting:
The NFL vs sopcast is a bit like record industry vs limewire but......Some of my friends have nicer monitors than TVs so.....I can imagine they'd like it. Plus computer=no distractions, living room=babysitting and other stuff

I think nflnetwork will fare better than the games

Actually, this is a great idea. One of the big drivers for Slingbox has been business travelers who want to watch their home sports teams / subscriptions while on the road. I for one spend a number of Sundays traveling, and this increases my interest in buying Sunday Ticket.I'm just glad they haven't introduced a third super-duper-fan tier. There's always next year.

sucks that its only for NFL ticket suscribers. I'd get it but don't have the ticket.
Just go to StreamTVnow.com and get the same thing, plus TONS of other sporting events + PPV.Only $6/mo. No-brainer. :gang2:
:lmao: I had no idea this existed...I'll check it out now, good looking out!
sounds like sopcast except sopcast is free. sopcast is the greatest thing ever. I can now watch any game I want each week without having to go to the bar.

please note: it is illegal to get streamed media if you don't already have access to it legally. ie - can't legally stream DirecTV channels unless you're already a subscriber

How is StreamTVnow.com any good? They don't seem to have tonights game on... Unless I'm missing something, they don't have that many games listed.

most of the people streaming on sopcast are streaming local broadcasts not from direct tv.

What do I need to install to get Sop? I'm getting error message after error message, but it doesn't mention the missing component.

lol surprise surprise. are you getting any error at all?

I would hope the quality of games streamed by the NFL would be better than what we get with Sopcast.
The quality is excellent. Being from Australia we do not have access to many games each week so I've subscribed to Yahoo NFL Game Pass last season and am doing it again this year. The only downside is no playoffs and the games are archived for 2 days only.....but that gives me a chance to watch more games than what is on offer each week on pay per view TV in Australia (between 3-4 games a week)

Can you watch the games live?

sure can, all games are live. It's easy to switch between games too so I'm usually following a few using gamecenter on nfl.com and watching whatever one takes my fancy at the time.

there's gotta be a catch. How delayed is the stream on streamtvnow or sopcast

I flip through games on Sirius and even that is about 10 seconds slower than nfl.com's score page.
