Nick Buoniconti passes away at age 78 (1 Viewer)

I'm watching ESPN right now, and they just flashed some very sad news.  Hall of Fame linebacker Nick Buoniconti died yesterday at the age of 78.  He was a key member of the Dolphins' undefeated 1972 team, and went in the Hall of Fame in 2001.  If any of you have memories of Nick Buoniconti, please share them.

Sad...the HBO documentary that showed last year was very good.  His work related to The Miami Project is truly phenomenal.

In retrospect ... those actually were pretty big memories of Nick and Len. Sports programming isn't done that way anymore, especially by ex-athletes. It was so easy to take for granted at the time.

While I remember his Dolphins years, I probably missed seeing him in his prime (Boston 1962-68.) I think the Hall of Fame voters took that “No Name Defense” moniker too literally. Took him 15 years and Jake Scott never got in.

Was a practicing lawyer, player agent and great commentator. Will be donating his brain for CTE research.
