Night To Shine (1 Viewer)

This is a really awesome event that occurs all over the US and in other countries. Starting last night and over the next several nights, churches are holding proms for special needs students age 14-18 where each kid is crowned king or queen at the end of the night. Places that have them try to blow them out as much as possible and create amazing nights for these kids.

I know that a lot of people hate Tim Tebow and I'm sure the church part bothers some people, but this is a pretty awesome thing they do for these kids and I think deserves some recognition and celebration.

That is really cool.  Hope they spend some of the budget on hotel rooms too.  Just because they're special needs doesnt mean they dont have the right to get laid on prom night.

my gf works with special needs kids, mostly middle school age, and i can think of no greater event for these older children - awesome, indeed

bless every single one of them, and major kudos to all involved in making this such a tremendous reality.

My church is really trying to expand our care for special needs kids and their families. They're quite often an ignored group. I'm starting to push for us to consider at least partnering with another church in signing on to this.

Best Buddies is a great organization for special needs adults and both my kids are attending a "best buddies" prom next weekend.  One has special needs, the other volunteers for the organization.

And yeah, events like these are really wonderful.
