Niners' Derek Smith - Moving to the Outside? (1 Viewer)

The Niners re-signed Derek Smith, for likely the final three seasons of his career. In his five seasons with SFO & his four seasons with WAS, we was the leading tackler on the team.

However, with Julian Peterson ending up in Seattle, what are the chances the Niners try Smith on the outside? Might this effect his tackle numbers?

Has anyone heard any good information on this?

Lawson was clearly drafted to fill Peterson's spot. Why would SF move such a strong ILB to OLB?

Neither. The GM of my hybrid Keeper/Dynasty league asked me to do some research because he'd gotten mixed signals in what he'd read and heard. We're in the middle of our Free Agent Auction and Smith was on the board. I wasn't finding anything definitive, so I thought I put in a query here.Isn't that what the board is for?
