The 20th time a Cardinal has won the award since 1922...second to the Yankees who have 22...he becomes the second Cardinal to win it 3 times with Stan the Man.

In 9 seasons Pujols has never finished lower than 9th in voting. 4 times he's finished 2nd (to Bonds 3 times )

wasn't Pujols just coming off his single-A season? Anyway, i thought he DID make the opening day roster in 01.just looked him up on B-R. Only 104 plate appearances above LOW-A.Pujols went from a 954 OPS in low-A in 2000 to a 1013 OPS in St. Louis in 2001.

Still find it hilarious how the "Professor" kept Chad Hutchinson on the Opening Day roster over Pujols, and only brought Pujols up north when Hutchinson blew out his elbow.

wasn't Pujols just coming off his single-A season? Anyway, i thought he DID make the opening day roster in 01.just looked him up on B-R. Only 104 plate appearances above LOW-A.Pujols went from a 954 OPS in low-A in 2000 to a 1013 OPS in St. Louis in 2001.

Yeah he was called up a few weeks in, I thought Tatis got hurt or something and Pujols came up to fill in for him.I remember it because he was a DL pickup in one of my leagues for Gary DiSarcina. Now, why DiSarcina was on anyone's team to begin with, that I cannot answer...

Barry pre roids was good - but not near Pujols good. No one talked about him as one of the greatest ever, in the discussion with Jimmy Foxx and Musial.Wait - CORNHOLE? Where we holin'

4th or 5thPujolsRamirezFielderHoward/TulowotzkiOr something along those lines. He certainly did not deserve any votes over Hanley Ramirez. Fielder had one more HR, same number of RBI, but his OPS was 1.014 to Howard's .931.

It's a toss up between those guys. I think the voters took into consideration the fact that Fielder played on a team with a losing record. Not that I agree with that line of thinking, but it does exist.
