Dodgers 74-52

Phillies 72-51

Cardinals 73-54

Rockies 72-54

Two games separates all 4.

Too bad it's not like the old days - one team in the World Series and the rest go home.

A lot can still happen between now and October, but you gotta think the Cardinals and Rockies are the two favorites right now; both have been hot as hell lately.

Philly could obviously do it again, but it is hard to pick a team whose closer is a trainwreck right now over every other team.

LA has been on a slow decline for a while, and their starting pitchers won't scare anyone in October.

I agree - these 3 and really LA can turn it around - both NL playoff series will be dogfights and to go out right now and say one has any advantage is crazy. It sure is fun to watch and start to look ahead to the matchups however.

I'm still hoping the Giants can keep things interesting but I honestly don't think they have the bats to compete.

Giants have seemed to fade in the past this season only to rebound - when you have Lincecum and Cain you have a 2 game winning streak at the ready - then if you can get one of the other guys to pitch well - it's 3. They need to start taking 4 out of 5 instead of 3 out of 5 from here on out.

It is hard to pick the team whose closer is a disaster right now to be the favorite when the teams are all closely bunched together. You can't win the Series without having a reliable closer, and the Phillies do not have one right now. Blown saves in October lead to teams getting eliminated. Oh, and why haven't you revisited the Matt Holliday thread? :P
