Thought the third was a real positive inning for teh Phils.

Oswalt pitches out of a jam.

Ruiz works a walk in a lengthy at bat. Victorino and Polanco both hit the ball hard instead of the weak popups (don't know if that's because Arroyo was pitching from the stretch.)

Chapman is EASILY the MLB player I most enjoy watching right now. Must-see TV.
Don't know why the Reds would make him a starter instead of a closer.
Because 200 innings of a great pitcher is worth a ton more than 65.
Red Sox, right or wrong, decided otherwise with Papelbon.
From what I remember, they didn't think Papelbon had enough pitches to be a starter. That may be the case with this kid (I don't know enough about him), but if he's able to be a successful starter it's a no-brainer.

I'm just saying 100 fastball, 87 slider is screaming closer. I'm not sure if Chapman has another pitch right now either.

Papelbon's issues, if I remember correctly, were injury related. I think the Crap Sox have tried to make him a starter twice and twice he's dealt with shoulder injuries.

w/ AC the big thing is TJ surgery especially w/ Dusty Baker at the reigns.

Well, last I checked, they only get 1 win for this game, right?

Props to Doc. He made the best offense in the NL look really, really bad.
Huh? He wasn't pitching to his own team...
You really are obtuse, aren't you. I didn't quantify and say "in the last month". Over the entire season, the Reds were the best offense in the NL. If you care to continuing making stupid arguments, please refer to my first sentence.
You also didn't qualify and say "over the entire season" in your statement. I don't think there are many people outside of the Cincy homers who would agree with your position. I'll back away and watch the remainder of the playoffs.
:lmao:

Actually, his changeup is as good as his slider. He's had it taken away from him since he got called up to the Cincy BP. I was told this from someone w/i the Reds organization personally.A few notes about tonight's game:1) Utley wasn't hit by that pitch2) Utley was CLEARLY out at 2B and it wasn't close.3) Utley never touched 3B (shame on the Reds for not appealing, so that's on them)4) Just like they learned from being swept at home by the Cards, I'm hoping this team learns from this series. They simply were inexperienced and not ready. Getting owned by the best pitcher in baseball on a night he's out-of-his mind is one thing. Tonight is a totally different thing. They beat themselves and I just  they learn from this and are ready next season.

Was at the game, sitting in right field, Bruce never picked up the ball off of Rollins bat. He looked like a drunk sailor when he started for the ball and never found it... We immediately assumed the white towels played a huge roll in that play. Was anything mentioned on the broadcast?
