I got this response from MFL and it looks like several owners were using HTML in their team name to change colors and that is a big no no.

I used to get emails from MFL, now I'm not getting any. There for awhile they were going to SPAM, so I set up a filter to not send them to
SPAM and they started coming to my inbox again. Now no MFL trade offers or transactions are coming to my email, which is gmail. It's not
just happening to gmail either, yahoo and other emails are having the same problem. No one in my leagues (3 of them) are getting emails from
MFL.

"Email" subcategory:
Why isn't MyFantasyLeague.com sending me email?
Diagnosing email problems can be a very frustrating, time-consuming task, especially as more and more spammers clog the Internet with their
spam. That said, hopefully this list of items to check will help make that task a bit easier.
Possible causes of you not being able to receive the email that the site is supposed to send you include:
1. The owner's email address has been entered incorrectly. To make sure that the email address that has been entered into
MyFantasyLeague.com is correct, do the following:
• Go to the <
http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2013/options?L=33886&O=01> Franchise Information report for the franchise in question.
• Click on their email address.
• Send them a test message.
• If you get an error message back, or they never receive the message, then most likely the email address registered with
MyFantasyLeague.com is incorrect. To correct the email address, just choose the <
http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2013/options?
L=33886&O=50> Franchise Setup option for the franchise in question.
2. The owner's name has HTML in it. Some email servers reject emails with a "from" name that includes HTML characters like a less than sign or
a greater than sign. Make sure everyone in your league is not using a less than sign or a greater than sign in their franchise name.
3. The commissioner's email address and/or another owners email address is entered incorrectly on the site. The site requires all email
addresses to be valid, as it tries to make the email that it generates to be "From" your commissioner or one of your league-mates. If an invalid
email address is entered, your ISP might be set up to reject an email due to it recognizing the email as coming from an invalid address.
4. The owner has elected to not receive email from the system. This option can be changed via the
<
http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2013/options?L=33886&O=195> Franchise Setup - Contact Info screen. Make sure the appropriate
checkboxes are checked for all events that the owner wants to get email for.
5. Any draft picks made in the "live draft" mode will not be emailed to owners. The "live draft" mode is like a chat room, where it is expected
that many or most people from your league will be logged on at the same time to conduct the draft, so there would be no need to have email
updates of the draft while in the live draft chat room.
6. For auctions, the emails are sent out under the following circumstances:
• When a new player goes up for auction, everyone in the league gets an email
• When a player is won at auction, everyone gets an email
• If you are a current high bidder in an auction, and you subsequently get out-bid, you (and only you) get an email. In other words, you will
not get an email if someone out-bids another owner in an auction on the site during an auction.
7. You haven't waited long enough to receive the email message. MyFantasyLeague.com sends out email immediately once the transaction or
weekly score update takes place. However, the Internet treats email more like a post office than a telephone call, and sometimes it can take
several hours or more for you to receive the email in question. In rare, but extreme cases, we've received email more than a year old.
Experience has shown that this is especially true with AOL.
8. You (or your ISP, or your company) has "spam" filtering software installed. MyFantasyLeague.com "masks" the sender of the email
message to make it seem like the message came from your league commissioner, which makes it easy to reply to the message. This masking
may cause some email filtering programs to consider it spam, and thus not deliver it. Check your email program, and with your ISP, to make
sure that automatic spam filtering is not done. Note to AOL users: please go under AOL keyword "Mail Controls" to be sure that your account
is set up to allow the site to send you email! Also, some times companies use third party spam filtering software like "Barracuda Networks" so
the email is flagged as spam, and never even gets to your company's email servers in the first place before being incorrectly flagged as spam.
9. If you have a MSN/HotMail/Windows Live account, you should add "MyFantasyLeague.com" (without the quotes) and your commissioner's
email address to your HotMail Safe List. Also, you will need your "Options > Junk Email Protection > Junk Email Filter" setting must be set to
"Low" (and not the default setting, which is "Enhanced"). Note that if you leave this setting to be "Enhanced", all myfantasyleague.com email
will end up in your junk email folder.
10. Your email provider is having problems. We send out email within minutes of a transaction occurring. However, that is not a guarantee
that you will receive it immediately. If your email provider or any intermediate email router is having problems on their end, you will not receive
that email until their problems are resolved. The easiest way to determine if that's the case is - are you receiving email from other people at
this same address? If not, that's a good indication that the problem might be with your email provider.
11. Have your commissioner check the "For Commissioners <
http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2013/options?L=33886&O=172> Email Log
report - does the system report any problems with sending an email to you?
12. The final check you can do - have one of your league mates who is receiving email from the site check the "To:" line of the message that
they are getting from the site to look for your email address listed. If it is listed, you can tell that the site is sending you email the same way
and at the same time that it is sending your league-mates email, so the problem must be with #7, #8, #9, or #10 above. Please note,
however, that the reverse is not true - just because your league-mate does not see your email address on the "To:" line of the message that
the site sends to them, it does not mean that the site is not sending you email! Please also see the FAQ question, <u>Why isn't
MyFantasyLeague.com sending my league-mate email?</u> for further clarification.
13. If none of the above applies to you, and you still are not able to receive MyFantasyLeague.com email, please contact us via our
<
http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2013/support?L=33886> online support form and we'll try to look into the problem.
One additional note on this topic: Spam has become the scourge of the Internet. Anti-spam software vendors, ISPs, and corporations are
constantly tweaking the rules for what they consider spam. On occasion, legitimate email from your MyFantasyLeague.com league gets mis-
identified as spam (termed a 'false-positive'). The end result is that while the email gets sent to your emailbox, the spam filter blocks receipt at
the user's emailbox, and the user just assumes it was never delivered. This can even occur with some of the league email going to one
emailbox, but not other league email going to the same emailbox. Please understand that this is completely out of our control. It would be
similar to having your local mail carrier decide to NOT put a letter in your home mailbox. While the sender would have sent it, you still would
not receive it. Of course this is not the fault of the sender. Please do not rely exclusively on the site to notify you of various situations in
your league. Periodically check your league pages to ensure you are up to date regarding your league's activities.
Lastly, based on our experience, it appears that email services such as Yahoo, HotMail and AOL are far more aggressive about what they
consider to be spam. If you choose to use a one of these email account, your ability to receive the email sent by the site is therefore more
likely to be blocked and compromised. But, you can see <

for some additional work-arounds for getting mail delivered via a third party web site.
