Normalized Strength Of Schedule? (1 Viewer)

Hi, Steeler.

In the past, we've had several versions of SOS on the site. We decided this year to pare it down to just one. It's available here:

https://www.footballguys.com/myfbg-classic/my-custom-sos?pos=rb&profile=p&sortby=5

We chose this SOS because it can be tied to your league's custom scoring.

Is this going to use  the last 4 weeks or cumulative for the year?  I liked the NSOS because it used 4 weeks rather than cumulative - teams can be playing better or worse during the season due to injuries or whatever so the shorter timeframe seems more accurate to me.

@Clayton Gray  Can we talk about the Normalized Strength of Schedule - specifically the process of generating the values for each team.   IIRC, the NSOS not only looked at the the last four week for a given defense, but also looked at the opponents of those defenses and how they faired against other teams.  The link provided by Joe is good, but id doesn't go that one layer deeper.

For example, if a defense plays the 4 worst offenses in a row, they might look really good on paper if you just look at those 4 weeks.  However, if you see that this defense did worse against these bottom offenses than all the other teams those bottom offenses have faced, then this defense could be targeted as being overrated.  I liked to use this tool for DFS purposes looking for "sleepers" or whatever.

I'd like to implement something like that on my own but can't quite figure out how to make it all work.  Thanks if you can give me any details about your process.
