Now who is leading the MVP race and why? (1 Viewer)

Is this post about who is the most valuable player, who should win the MVP award, or who will win the MVP award?

If this is about who will win the award then either pick a QB or a RB or else prepare to buck some serious trends:

Last non-QB/RB to win it? 1990 - WR Jerry Rice (although he only won 1/3 of it)

Before that? 1987 - Also WR Jerry Rice (only split it with 1 other person that time)

Last Defensive player? 1986 - LB Lawrence Taylor (guess what? he split the award too...)

Strangest win of all time? 1982 - K (yes K) Mark Moseley (when do you think a kicker will win again?)

Oh yea...and if you want to pick a non-QB/RB to win it outright...you have to go back to the days of Don Hutson (1941/1942) and Mel Hein (1938) since that has happened...Did they even use the forward pass back then?

As a football fan that bleeds blue I hate just about single player in the NFC East who doesn't have that cool NY on the helmet, but Donovan McNabb is the clear choice right now, without question in my mind.I hope he collects his trophy as he watches Eli win 3 playoff games in spite of Tom Coughlin, but still, I don't see anyone else close.
also a Giants fan, and i couldn't have put it better myself...

Your Mom said:
Like I said, the guy is a bad man. I have never seen a defensive player put on a better defensive performance.
Then you haven't been watching Peppers. The guy is covering ground like a LB and additionally disrupting numerous plays that have ended up as throwaways.
:goodposting:
just so long as all you guys realize none of this correlates to a vote for MVP....
Where in that post did BassNBrew say anything about MVP?
take a look at what you clicked on to read this thread dude...

Urlacher had a nice second half against the Cards. Good for his ugly ### and the Bears fans.

He is NOT, I repeat NOT, worthy of MVP consideration. This is the NFL folks and offense wins MVP awards.

Unless you can bring it like the original LT. Urlacher ain't even close to that level.

Your definition of a dude is somewhat disturbing.
