I'm busy Thursday night, but I'm almost positive I'm still in if we're doing this Friday night. This is walking distance from work for me.

Even shorter walk for Otis.

Yeah, yeah. There's two bars in the joint, we'll meet at the one upstairs. At that hour, (5:30/600?) it won't be busy up there. I'll send out a PM the day before, probably letting everyone know what I'll be wearing or something. Maybe I'll be clutching a copy of thr FBG magazine. Yeah, maybe not. Good bar to chill at, we'll grab the cocktail tables right in front of the bar, good vantage point for the pageant.

...or will that be all done with by the time I roll into town around 9:00? :(

E will drop you a block away on 8th. NR will drop you right there at 49th. B D F V will drop you a block away on 6th.

From Penn, take the 1 northbound to 50th street...restaurant is 1 block east and 1 1/2 blocks south

I think you are walking an avenue either way to head East, if the E train is right there (which I think it is on 8th Ave.) I would hop on that and walk when you get off, otherwise you are walking (most likely underground) to catch the other options before getting on the train.
