NYC Restaurant Reccommendations - Columbus Circle/Hell's Kitchen a (1 Viewer)

I'm heading to NYC with my wife next weekend for our anniversary and we are staying at Parker Meridien on West 57th Street. I'm told that is near the Columbus Circle and Hell's Kitchen area of NYC. Any reccommendations for restaurants in either location? We don't eat sushi but other than that we are open on the type of restaurant. It will be our anniversary so something with a romantic setting might be nice but mostly concerned with good food and service and would definitely shy away from a place that is stuffy.

I would just go to The Burger Joint at your hotel. Look for the small sign down a hallway.

All seriousness, there's a variety of top places near you at the Time Warner Center. Depending on price, you have Per Se ($$$$$), Landmarc, and Porter House NY. Hit the **New York** thread for more recommendations.

Thanks, Per Se doesn't seem to have any availability, will check out Landmarc

if you are into steak Del Frisco's is fantastic and a few blocks away...it's like 6th and 52nd. I'm sure you'll need a reservation.

Porter House, request a window seat overlooking Columbus Circle... It is in the Time Warner Building right there on Columbus Circle... Asiate is extremely romantic on the 40th floor of the same building with great views, but you prob won't be able to get anything on this short of notice.

I can almost guarantee you won't be able to get a reservation at Del Frisco's for a weekend on one weeks notice. No worries though, as Porter House is just as good and the scenery is better.

Ippudo Westside for perhaps the best Ramen in the country.

People rave about the experience at Trattoria Dell'Arte ... very NY but I was not bowled over.

Jean Georges (formal, awesome, very expensive) or his Nougatine (attached to the main dining room, as great food, more casual and reasonably priced) is in the Trump Building.

Le Bernardin is consistently one of the best in the City / Country.

Aside from previously mentioned..

Robert is right in Columbus circle. Not overly stuffy. Good food. Awesome view as well.

Thanks for the suggestions, several places didn't have availability but I made reservations at Trattoria Dell'Arte and Robert. I will probably just let my wife decide which restaurant to go to, Trattoria Dell'Arte seems more like our type of place but Robert offers views and an atmosphere we can't get at home so I'm leaning to eating there.

Has anyone tried Carbone in the Village. Couldn't get in on short notice last time I was in NYC, but it looks really good.
