OAK vs SF thread (1 Viewer)

jerrymac: 49ers scratched: Kyle Williams, William James, Brandon Long, Ahmad Brooks, Eric Heitmann, Vernon Davis, Tony Curtis, Aubrayo Franklin.

Raiders: Chris Johnson, Samson Satele, Chaz Schilens, Jay Richardson

I Agree , its hard to base anything on last season. Now with a competent QB DHB might look like a WR. I completly give most raider WR a pass after having to deal with Russels 10 yard off course passes.

Is DHB looking more natural out there? I guess it's easier when you're tryin to catch a misplaced ball at 300mph.

DHB is looking very good. He caught both balls with authority and bullied his way for extra yards. I notice he looks a lot thicker up top. He is definitely bulked up. Reminds me of a young Anquon.

Lamarr Houston chases Smith out of pocket, he throws short of stake to Delanie Walker, incomplete anyway. Mike Mitchell in coverage. Forty-Niners screwed themselves on that drive. And now Nedney misses the field goal attempt. Ouch.

McFadden gets another carry, he's hit behind line of scrimmage by Patrick Willis and loses a yard. Wanted to bounce it outside to left

First-and-10 from own 32. Smith straight dropback, looks for Delanie Walker down right sidleine deep. Blanketed by Tyvon Branch. Branch breaks it up., Nice play

Matt Shaughnessy blows up toss left to Anthony Dixon, loss of 2, third-and-12. May have seen all we're going to see of Frank Gore. That would be smart

Smith in shotgun throws to Dominique Zeigler and Huff lowers the boom, breaking it up. One of the better hits you'll see Huff make. 49ers punt after three-and-out

Patrick Willis hits McFadden for loss. He almost got to the ball before McFadden did. He had no chance. Wow. Four-yard loss.

From 12 yard line, third-and-18 . . . Campbell in shotgun . . . swing right mcFadden, he nearly gets first down yardage, but not quite. He gained 15 yards. Hope they learned something on that possession with regard to McFadden and how he can be effective

Alex Smith to Delanie Walker for big gain, flag downfield. Josh Morgan threw illegal block in the back against Huff. Dumb penalty. Forty-Niners now at Raiders 34, first-and-10. Jersey folded up, couldn't tell who was covering Walker on that play. A 28-yard gain minus penalty yardage.

First play of second qtr, Smith flare right to Moran Norris for 13 yards, so 49ers decline Lamarr Houston penalty for offsides.

second play, Anthony Dixon finds room up the middle. Michael Huff carried the last two yards. McClain defending Norris previous play, or at least made tackle. He's not having a good game so far

Raiders defense hold the Niners on 2nd and inches on the Raiders 15, 4th down, the niners go for it. penalty on Asomugha, first down, it was a terrible call. just awful.

there's a play by Rolando McClain, he knifes in and stuffs Dixon, with Tyvon Branch following up. No gain. Second-and-goal from the 10

Alex Smith's pass hits Nate Byham in the facemask, falls incomplete. Forty-Niners fail from red zone again. They need Vernon Davis out there, obviously. Nedney attempts 28-yard field goal into Black Hole. He makes this one. Raiders lead 7-3 with 11:23 left in the half

49ers kick FG

Raiders 7 Niners 3

thanks for the pbp raiderfan, listening to game wont see replay until tonight. nice to hear from someone with eyes on.

Can you fill me in on how Alex Smith is playing? Obviously with only 3 points on the scoreboard he's not doing great, but is he having a terrible game, or is he doing ok and everyone else around him is playing terrible?

Alex Smith looks good. Especially between the 20sIn the RZ, the Raiders have been able to tighten up. The offense is moving well though

Rock Cartwright on KO return dropped at the 18. Pretty unimpressive 14-yard return. Good covg. by 49ers. Back-to-back poor special teams plays by Raiders

Campbell dumped by Travis LaBoy and he is shaken up

Campbell down on the field, trainers hovering

LaBoy went right around Mario Henderson. Campbell still down. He's done for the night, at least, I would think. Hopefully it's nothing worse than that.

Travis LaBoy is no world-beater . . . a journeyman end, and he looked like Dwight freeney on that play against Henderson.

Campbell down for 5 minutes now...about to be carted off

walked on own to passenger seat of cart

Campbell still lying flat. They're looking at his right wrist. Lost the ball when he hit ground (ground caused it, no fumble)

He at least walked to the golf cart.

They're getting Campbell to his feet. He's getting in cart, not laying on back of it. Sitting in passenger seat. Appears to be in some pain . . . cart is leaving the field with Campbell riding shotgun, instead of playing in shotgun

Smith under hreavy pressure, gets off pass in face of rush to Dominique Ziegler. McClain pressured him into throwing it, but Ziegler goes up and gets it vs. Walter McFadden for first down

Rookie Mike Iupati called for pre-snap foul . . . first-and-15. Singletary not going to be happy about all the mental errors. Nor should he be
