Crowd sourcing a plug and play waiver wire WR (1 Viewer)

So with injuries and byes let’s try to find a waiver wire WR to play this week. Below is a list of best options from each team for likely available WR.

Westbrook-I vs texans
Metchie v titans

Tolbert v wash
N Brown v dallas

Bourne/ Polk v Miami

Coker v KC

McMillan v NYG

Pierce v lions

Vele v LV

D. Wicks v SF

Bateman v LAC

if I didn’t list a team it’s cause I thought there were no good options - feel free to point out if I missed a WR.

My takes:
McMillan TB - gutsy call to give the start but should be healed off the bye, Evan’s back, playoff run, playing NYG
Pierce is the other guy I am wondering about

Timely topic for me because I was in a league of mine a few hours ago where I'm decimated this week and was looking at someone to pick up for this week if Lamb or Nabers could not go(I think both will).

McMillan, who you listed, has been a stone cold in my lineup lock since Wednesday when he practiced in full. Feel unreasonably confident in him this week but maybe that's due to my options, or lack thereof.

I'd add on that list you mentioned Bateman. He was DNP today with a knee. If he's out that would open up a shot for Diontae, if he's available in leagues(He's not in this one).

Coker, who you metioned, also DNP today I believe so if a Thielen is hanging around in a league and I needed some WR help this week he'd be of interest to me.

Shepard is another one not available but I'll throw out. I hope for McMillians sake he takes on primary slot duties but if he does not it likely is Sheperds job and he could do a lot better in this role with Evans and McMillian both healthy opening things up.

When I went into the league I was hoping to see Westbrook-Ikine available, another name you mentioned. He was not but he's had a solid role the last few weeks and was named game day captian this week.

But all those players were gone so I had to hunt a little deeper and here some names I'll throw out. This will be for the really desperate crowd:

Brandin Cooks-frankly looked like toast with Dak. Was not a Cowboy in 2022 when Rush had his little run so no real familiarity. But again this is for the desperate crowd and maybe Cooks looked so bad earlier because he was trying to play thru the knee issue he had the procedure done on? Ferguson out, Lamb banged up....

Dotson-with Devonta already ruled OUT.

Marvin Mims-does not play much but he has touched the ball 12 times on offense the last two weeks with some success and they seem to be in the midst of maybe working him into being Sean Payton's coveted joker role as he's playing a mini poor mans Deebo role the last two weeks.

Back to McMillan - 15 targets in last 2 healthy games which were without Godwin and Evans - evans back and Godwin still out - I would expect 6 targets easy.

I’m thinking about McMillan too. Considering Slayton JuJu and Bateman too.

I think Noah Brown is the play here. Outsnaps McLaurin, granted no one on the team has stepped into the 2nd option role, but this is a critical moment for KK and the offense. It's a very predictable offense and if they want to get things turned around they'll need to stop that. Then again, used to see this often in Arizona.

Brown had some monster games for the Texans last year. I could see him going off against the Cowboys.

EDIT

Routes Run by Week
  • Week 11 Brown 30, McLaurin 29
  • Week 10 Brown 35, McLaurin 34
  • Week 9 Brown 20, McLaurin 22
  • Week 8 Brown 38, McLaurin 35
Granted we don't get points for in-game cardio, but he has topped 50 yards four times. Can you say that about any of your other options?

OTOH, Westbrook-Ikhine has 5 TDs in his last 6 games - and the Texans have surrendered 16 TDs to WRs this season.

Brown or the hyphen seem like the clear choices but looking over the replies apparently that's just me.

Who do you all like to McMillan, Bateman, Thielen?

I like Thielen. Coker showed up as a DNP Firday with a quad. That’s not good for Coker's prospects. Thielen, Legette, and Moore would then be the receivers for Carolina. I see them trailing by the second half and racking up some garbage time throws and points.

McMillan? I was unaware of his targets. Nice to know.

Bateman also showed up as a knee issue but is apparently good to go.

My gut tells me Thielen.
