Oakland at Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

I always wonder why teams don't call a fair catch on those short kickoff and then toss a bomb because the return game hasn't been the best.

Any thoughts on Ben's injury? Are we talking next week, another few games, the season? Somebody make an educated guess.
When you get sent to the hospital while the game is still ongoing, that's not usually a good sign. Sure seemed like either a broken foot or torn plantar fascia to me.
In the Steelers thread I made an (semi-) educated guess that it's a lisfranc injury. If it were only broken metatarsals, they would have seen that easily on stadium X-rays. To go for further evaluation means they needed MRI. Lisfranc is harder to see and diagnose. Having an impact on the heel while the toes are up and planted in the ground leaves broken metatarsals or lisfranc as the most likely reason that Ben couldn't bear any weight on the foot. If they didn't come right out and say, "broken foot" before the game was over, you're likely looking at another 4-6 weeks off for Ben, possibly IR.

Or a simple sprain and 2-3 weeks out.

Sometimes a semi-education is a dangerous thing.
