with the trade-off of Republican control after those eight years, I would definitely have taken it. One of the things I think historians will look back on during this time is how so much social liberalization happened in such a short time, and how much that influenced the nationalist/populist wave following it. Lots of interesting parallels to the 1920s.
That would be a total misread of what happened.  Trump made a compelling case to the voters that he could create high paying jobs.  The democrats focused more on social issues.  As they said in 1992, its the economy stupid.

Compare:

The unemployment rate in January 2009 vs. November 2016: 10.3% vs.4.7% Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics

The DOW, same time frame: 7,949 vs.19,251 Source: DJIA Over Time, CNN Money

Home foreclosures dropped from 3.4 million in 2009 to 1.1 million in 2015 Source: Home Foreclosure Statistics

Feel free to check the labor participation rate and wages on the Bureau of Labor statistics site, for those who like to claim all the jobs are McJobs. That's not true.

These aren't "lamestream media" sites.

On those statistics alone, I would argue Obama is not the worst of all time.

For those saying he's an evil person, where in the world does that come from? He doesn't tweet angrily, seems to like sports, raised two good daughters while being POTUS. What in the actual ####? Even if he's not the greatest, the thread question is Obama, worst ever? So the answer is no.
Agreed. Just wait until the Hemorrhoid-elect gets into office.

His economic message resonated with a particular segment of voters, he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million so his compelling case clearly didn't translate everywhere. He targeted and did well with white, rural voters who have been economically marginalized by technology and globalization.

What I'm pointing out is that those voters also happen to typically be more socially conservative, and that the rapid pace of social liberalization that took place over the last eight years is part of what's driving discontent there. It's not a binary system where it's either the economy or social factors it's both. Particularly when his margin of victory in those Rust Belt states was less than 100,000 combined, in the end everything mattered.

Yep, when Democrats were fighting for Johnny McBoner's right to shower in the girls locker room as long as he identified as a female, people said enough is enough.  Most people can get behind two consenting adults in love being able to marry each other, but they balk when you want to allow R Kelly to shower with their 14 year old daughter

Oof

Worst person ever to be President ... including Clinton.

Decision making using a random roll of dice would likely produce better results than this clown.

Maybe not.  The dice would occasionally get something right. 0bama was consistently bad because 0bama was deliberately bad.

Deliberately?  Do you also believe he could have been deliberately good if he wanted to be?
Yes, because Obama’s agenda was globalism rather than helping America. So often times, hurting America was part of that agenda. His supporters have a hard time accepting this or believing it, but it’s true.

WH Chief of Staff McDonough: Obama ‘Our Most Catholic of Presidents’

SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTER

On Thursday’s “Axe Files” podcast, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough argued that President Obama is “our most Catholic of presidents.”

McDonough said of Obama, “He talks a lot about dignity. He talks a lot about people being made in the image of God. He talks a lot about the need to treat each person with that respect that that demands.”

McDonough added, “I think this is the — our most Catholic of presidents. And I mean that by capital C Catholic, in what I see and what he does every day. It’s not to say that he’s — does everything entirely consistent with Catholic teaching. That’s not the idea. But I think, in fact his view of the person and his view of our role, and the view of us as adding to the common good, I think is an undeniably Catholic set of premises, and that’s why I say that to him a lot.”

Obama and all his cronies have to be the most hypocritical people on Earth.  They have one set standards for their opponents and  completely different ones for themselves.  Do all people not recognize this?  It's nuts.   Give it up,  Hillary and Obama.  You guys lost.  Now you think we don't recognize what you're doing?  I'm not surprised by your divisiveness but it's just sad. There's absolutely no honor in what you're trying to do now.  Your character is getting exposed.

Obama and the Democrats are the ones still trying bringing up yesterday's garbage.  Won't move on.  Won't accept the vote by America. Doing everything they can to discredit Trump and the election.  Pathetic

Yesterdays garbage includes

- being the recipient of help from a foreign adversary to win the presidency,

- making appeals directly and nationally while running for the presidency to Russia to hack and/or release emails from Clinton's servers

- having a campaign manager with ties to Russia (Paul Manafort) being investigated by the FBI

- being unwilling to release tax returns or discuss publicly how close his businesses are tied to russia, with public record showing his son saying "Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets"

These are not things that are made up.  These are not conspiracy theories. These are facts.

Trump made a name for himself in conservative circles by championing a conspiracy theory that Obama wasn't born in the US.  That was a far-fetched, conspiracy theory.  These items, and MANY more, are not conspiracy theories.

Questioning whether the person who is going to take on the presidency of the united states has conflicts of interest, whether with his own businesses, or at the very least, with a major, perhaps THE major, adversary our country has in the world, is fair game.  Especially consider we have factual evidence that should make us ALL very worried about getting good answers to these questions.

So - where are the tax returns?  Is he going to divest his businesses?  He's not giving us tax returns, and he's not giving us answers about divesting from his business interests.  He has had nothing but nice things to say about Putin and Russia in the past...and there are just red flags everywhere.  For you to think that this is just democrats and Obama digging up yesterdays garbage is to have your head so far buried in the sand that you're probably getting a good view of China when you open your eyes.  Oh, and that burning feeling in your eyes - that's from the heavy levels of smog over there...better get used to it.

You just love him, despite the mounting evidence that Russia elected him President.   Pathetic.

Yeah, this is just the beginning. Get used to it.

I sure hope the Dems just go absolutely scorched Earth on Trump and his "cabinet."

Relentless attack him until he buckles.  And you just know Russia has all kinds of dirt on him.  Guaranteed.  The CIA too.  I hope they burn this mother####er to the ground.  I still can't believe these morons voted for him.  It really gives you a window into brand marketing and cult mentality.  Sickening.

I seriously don't care what you think.  I've never heard of you.  I don't even know a thing about any of your posts.  Trump is terrible for this country.  I don't think we could have done a worse job electing a President.  Shame on the Dems for rigging the systems against Bernie.  Plenty of shame to go around.
