Randomized our draft yesterday. I landed at #1. Again (see below.)

So what am I doing after I take Chase?

Since it's full PPR, I might just start WR-WR-WR or even WR-WR-WR-WR

I like zero RB teams generally, just need to make sure you have guys who are seeing targets

happy to punt TE or rotate or stream QBs - or both

anyone been mocking from #1? my first pass below

1. Ja'Marr Chase (Cin - WR)
2. A.J. Brown (Phi - WR)
3. Tee Higgins (Cin - WR)
4. Breece Hall (NYJ - RB)
5. David Montgomery (Det - RB)
6. T.J. Hockenson (Min - TE)
7. Patrick Mahomes (KC - QB)
8. Zach Charbonnet (Sea - RB)
9. Matthew Golden (GB - WR)
10. Jared Goff (Det - QB)
11. Trey Benson (Ari - RB)
12. Ray Davis (Buf - RB)
13. Tyler Allgeier (Atl - RB)
14. Luther Burden III (Chi - WR)
15. Marvin Mims Jr. (Den - WR)

Note - our draft is 18 rounds so I don't bother with mocking DST or K. Actually, a lot of times I don't in the real draft either as I'm content to pick over leftovers after taking 18 positional players.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Top Two 8 times when the expected number is 3.50.

pretty insane, right?

I had the number 1 pick and had a similar plan in mind to go Chase then AJ Brown, but Brown went the pick before me 2nd round pick and I didn’t like the next WRs available so went with Kyren Williams at that spot.

The WRs I didn’t like at that spot actually ended up falling to the 5th to me… so I ended up pretty happy.

11 RBs between 1.02 and 2.11 - last 2 were Chase Brown and Bucky Irving

Kyren and Omarion Hampton went right after I look Tee

KW3, Cook, Kamara, Hubbard, Trey Henderson, and Connor also went between 3.02 and 4.11

Higgins is an often injured #2.

I'd rather go with the best available RB. One of C Brown, Taylor, Irving, Jacobs should be there, correct?

Lots of good WRs at 48 such as Tet, and D Smith quality. Balance.

I've done 2 mocks on Yahoo in the last week where I had the # 1 pick. 10 teams, PPR. Start 2 WR and Flex. Both times I took Chase and both times Bowers was available at the 2-3 turn. I went Chase, Bowers, Chase Brown and was pretty happy overall at how it turned out.

those RBs weren't in the mock I posted but agreed, those would have been prioritized

next WRs after Higgins were Evans, Tyreek, Hill - old man brigade - and JSN who may not replicate his targets from last year

I think I feel about DaVonta the way a lot of folks view Higgins

I'm higher than most on Tee, he was awful in 2023 but 14th, 13th and 6th in the other 3 seasons on a PPG basis since COVID. 5 g missed each of the last two seasons but only missed 4 his first 3 seasons combined. Remember when Keenan Allen was a DND because he was made of glass? I'm guessing he will regress to the mean and stay healthier this year, but who knows, could be wrong.

You were very fortunate to snag Brown there - don't see how we falls that far in most drafts. If he wasn't available there who would've been your alternate pick?

What are your starting requirements?

we can start 4 WR or 3 RB (3 + 2 + TE and Flex can be any of those)

QB-WR-WR-WR-RB-RB-TE-WRT-K-DST (10 starters 8 bench)
Just mocked this with those starting requirements:
1 - WR Chase
2 - RB Brown
3 - TE McBride
4 - RB Henderson
5 - WR Worthy
6 - RB Pollard
7 - WR Jeudy
8 - WR Egbuka
9 - QB Prescott

Would like a start like that

Would you consider a QB at 2.14? That would give you positional advantage at 2 positions.

I heard a podcast showing that rounds 4-7 are strong at WR. Guys like Tet, D Smith, around pick 48, then Pearsall, Egbuka, Shakir around pick 84.

Yes, if Higgins can stay healthy, he's a top WR, better than AJ.

QB at 2.12/3.01? 4 pt passing TD

Think it’s been 13-14 years since I tried that (ARod)

There is one dude in our league who always and forever takes a QB in the 2nd

He hasn’t won a title since 2006 (IIRC the last year we had 6 pt passing TD)

good info on young mid round WRs I’ll look into that, thanks

K. Williams was also available.

Would not be comfortable with those two RBs. Yuk.

I have 1.02 and it's either Chase or Bijan. I'd prefer Bijan. There just seems to be way more WR value in the middle rounds where for RBs not so much.

I'm also going either elite TE or elite QB at the 2/3 turn. I want to set it and forget it somewhere. Can't play the waiver wire merry go round at those two positions. Will drive my brain crazy.

Mahommes interesting to me this year. Probably the cheapest he'll ever be. And I think that offense and team in general is going to be out for blood this year.
