***Official*** 2007 Chicago Cubs thread! (1 Viewer)

:hophead: We gotta get them tonight. Brewers have an advantage with one less loss, those bastards need to lose tonight.
 Go Braves
Braves have been a big help. Great job Bravos.Big win by Big Z yesterday.I'm still nervous. Brewers are a completely different team at home and could easily win 7 in a row there. Cubs are 0-3 vs Florida this year, and the freakin Marlins are the cause of several Cubs nightmares.

I am so glad the Cardinals are done. Haven't really heard much about them in this thread anymore.

Magic Number: 4 Just take 2 of 3 in each series against the Marlins and Reds and it won't matter what the Brewers do.

Brutal loss.

I am happy for the lame Cub fans but feel for the older fans that are the real fans. Tonight is the telling night but I see a one game playoff coming on Monday.

 at Marquis being the starter if they go into a 1 game playoff.
That would be complete SUICIDE !!It looks like the hated Redbirds might lower the number to 3. As of now it's 7-2 in the bottom of the eighth. It's obvious the damn Cubs ain't doing anything to lower it.

I wish I wasn't a Cubs fan. Because then I could actually enjoy this race. I should buy stock in Alka-Seltzer this weekend.

^ The thrill is in the winning right now. You lose it is the worst but you win and you want to pull your hair out with the frenzy. It could be worse- you could be a Sox fan! ;-)

Congrats Cubs fans.

The Eamus Catuli sign now reads AC006298 if I'm not mistaken.

And remember what all Cub haters are thinking.........

The closer they get to the prize, the more fun it is to watch them fall on their face.

Congrats to Night Hawks and others... enjoy the ride. :goodposting:
:pickle: Green94' :lmao: As a Sox fan it must be tough, (just as it was on me a couple years back) Way to stay classy.
You know, I used to hate the Cubs. Absolutely hate them. But with Pinella coaching, and I love Lou, I can't bring myself to hate them anymore.Don't get me wrong though, I'll never root for them, I just don't really hate them any more. Kind of an indifference if you will. :pickle:

Worst team in baseball history to make the playoffs. Nicely done.
AT LEAST THEY ARE IN !!!!!!!! THATS ALL THAT COUNTS !!!!!Someone a little bitter tonight ?

:banned: :banned:

:pickle: :pickle:

:suds: :suds:
:thanks: :hifive: :hifive: :headbang: :pickle:  :suds: What a great night!

And thanks green94. We've gone back and forth on these boards for a couple of years now about the Cubs and White Sox and I have to say you're one of the very few who don't take it personal and can take it just as well as you can dish it.

Go Cubbies!!!!

As a Cardinals fan, I just want to say congrats to the Cubs and their fans. Good luck in the playoffs. :yucky: I'll still be rooting against ya. :sadbanana:

Terrible losses but they are ok. In other news, Len Kasper is on suicide watch.
I hope they are OK, but I'll tell you, I don't have a good feeling. I agree, Len is on the brink of suicide.
They'll be ok. Milwaukee sucks.Cubs vs. Zona as we speak... good match up for them out of the gates.
I would expect nothing less from the classless, ignorant Cub fans.Good luck

:tfp: I'm not a Cub fan and your team choked. Deal with it. Milwaukee has the talent on offense, but their pitching is terrible. I would hope you at least see that. With that being said, that division will be up for grabs for years to come, so your team will have a shot if they pick up some pitching.

Oh I know they choked, and so did the Cubs until the weekend. What you just posted here is the 100% truth. Our bullpen was horrid and cost us the title, no question. But posting "Milwaukee Sucks" is just plain ignorant.

As a Sox fan I will give congrats to the Cubs and wish you well. I do think that you guys have the hot team and if Lee, Ramirez, Soriano and Big Z can continue to play well you will be looking at a championship. I am hoping for a Cubs vs. Cleveland WS. Enjoy cool Cub fans ( this excludes that tool Wrigley)........

All I want is my cubbies to beat the D backs and dispell all the BS that they didn't deserve to be here! Suck it up brewers fans, there's always next year!!!

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd exhale..........

Cardinals won it last year with only 83 wins, one big starter and boppers at 1B and 3B...I'm just sayin....

You guys don't need Ozzieball, even a jag like you should know that.

Parade? Already? For what? This is one of the lame Cub fans. A know it all that knows nothing. The MAIN reason why the Cubs are in the playoffs is because of a sorry and weak division. However- they are there and for my friends and family members that are Cub fans I hope they get to experience a WS victory but to the tools like you Wrigley- if they lose I will laugh....

GB Sweet Lou

Doesn't bunt Zambrano in the top of the 5th with Theroit on second and nobody out.

Then he lets him bat with the bases loaded in the top of the 6th with two outs only to pull him after the bottom of the 6th with only 85 pitches because he wants to use a 3 man rotation in this series.

First batter Marmol faces in the 7th.....

BOOM!!!!!!

2-1 Dbacks

It's bad enough they have black cats, billy goats and Bartmans out there trying to thwart their World Series run. Now they have to overcome Pinella over thinking things.

Agreed. The Cubs made mistakes, played poorly, hit the ball hard - just always at people, were awful with RISP, and generally played a terrible game (save for DeRo and Big Z was solid) - and lost by but 2 runs against the best Zona has. Some would argue that the best Cubs starting pitcher this year hasn't thrown a pitch yet. It's one game. Here's a fun stat to mull over: Lily and Hill rank 7th and 13th in MLB in WHIP - Zambrano was 40th. Webb was tied with Hill at 13th - and Lily was better. Reason, as a Cub fan, I'm glad the Rockies won? Peavey and Young were 1st and 4th.
