***OFFICIAL 2012 YANKEE THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

Just speaking for myself, I had never been to a playoff game. Been to probably 150-175 regular season games since the late 80's. Hell, I remember going to games in the late 80's early 90's and buying upper deck seats at walk up for 5 bucks and sneaking down to the lower bowl since the place was empty. I think parking was $7.

I heard all about the available seats on Stub Hub and checked it out. I got 2 seats in the terrace level for $48 a piece. Not a bad deal at all. Problem is, as mentioned, parking is ridiculous. $45 is a joke. I knew it going in and decided to go anyway, but there's no way I could make a habit of going to games today with the prices of the experience, not to mention normal ticket prices.

I took my wife, and after all was said and done, between tickets, parking, tolls, a couple beers, and a hot chocolate for her, we spent over $200. It was a cool experience, but I'd rather watch on TV for that price.

We started getting season tickets in 2001. Our tickets were $20 and parking was $7. Now our tickets are $27 which isn't bad but parking is $30 and like you said in some places it's $45. Unreal.

Thing is, I remember going to a Red Sox game in Fenway in 99 and paying $25 to park almost a mile from the stadium. I know money is tighter these days in general but I assume those parking prices haven't come down any from that level but people still pay it despite the poor economy. There has to be some other reason why an underachieving Sox team sells out (or close to it depending on who you believe) every game while the Yanks can't fill 10k seats for an LCS on a Saturday night.

Better fans? cant get standing room only tickets right now for tonights game in detroit.the Yankees have "red wings" apathy. success over a long period of time interest will die down regardless

I love how everyone is calling Francesa to give him their Yankee lineup tonight. :lmao:

As if it matters.

Personally, I'd go Álvaro Espinoza, Mel Hall and Mike Pagliarulo 1-2-3. It would yield the same result.

Ouch. True, but ouch.I don't think I've ever felt so down about a series. They really sucked the life out of being a fan with these first two games. As for tonight, i actually expect the opposite of a no hitter. I'd bet that they get to Verlander and actually hit a ton only to give up more runs and lose anyway. It would be more poetic in a way.

haha I can totally see that happening

Wow, who would have thought Phil would come up small when we needed him the most? He's usually so dependable.

Maybe this offseason the fat-ass can lift a weight and jog a little bit. Or maybe not.
